About Me

Nutcracker-Theme

You probably didn’t know I was a Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker Ballet.

Of course, I was ten years old.

And even though it was a neighborhood ballet troupe and not the real deal, I have loved the Nutcracker ever since.

You can imagine how thrilled I was to create this special Nutcracker table and room for The Home Depot.

Wouldn’t this be a fabulous idea for Christmas Eve or Christmas dinner?

Of course, you can create this inside your home in case the weather is a bit chillier than here!

Nutcracker Dinner

I built the wooden box hanger that is the centerpiece of my table.

I also cut out nutcracker snowflakes and placemats!

To see everything I did for this special table, just heat to my blog post Christmas Dinner with the Nutcracker.

Something New

The beach house is progressing so quickly. I am going to share a few photos but I promise the entire transformation will be shared in January! I am so excited to share and it still looks like we will be done by the end of the year!

Every day major progress is made and we are getting so excited. As you can see, the kitchen cabinets are being installed.

Beach house update floors

And they are also finishing the floors. As you can see, we used to have dark floors but I have decided we are going to have lighter floors in the home and I cannot wait. They need to sand two more coats so these floors have a way to go. Also, we installed new flooring in the new addition space and I cannot wait to share that with you.

If you are wondering why the ceiling lights look funny, they have been covered in plastic to avoid the floor sanding mess!

Beach house update beverage center

This is the small beverage area of the kitchen. I cannot wait until the appliances are installed next week. Currently, they are all sitting in the garage!

My Favorite Room This Week

Christmas in the Craft Room

I must say the craft room is certainly the most popular room this week. I have been busy wrapping and crafting and I really need to move into the kitchen and make a dent in the cooking for our Christmas party.

The party is Friday, December 23rd and I have less than a week to be ready. Be sure to watch my stories this week as I will be cooking almost every day. Yikes.

Christmas in the Craft Room

Anna Page’s Instagram is absolutely spectacular and at Christmas, it is spectacularly spectacular!

My dear friend Janine at Happy, Happy Nester is so incredibly talented. Check out how she made these beautiful snowflakes, out of paper bags!

Everything that Tiegan at Half Baked Harvest makes is incredible. These Brown Butter Iced Mocha Cinnamon Rolls look perfect for Christmas morning!

My wonderful, amazing friend KariAnne at Thistlewood Farms shares Seven Ideas for New Christmas Eve Traditions to Start This Year.

The holidays can be a difficult time for a lot of people. If you haven’t read any of Brene Brown’s books, The Gifts of Imperfection is a great place to start. Her “Man in the Arena” talk is an important listen.
