Before I left Waco last week, I was able to decorate our Waco Airbnb for the holidays. I am so thankful that I found all of these items at the local JOANN store in Waco. JOANN has the best Christmas wreaths and floral decor this year and I found so many great items to decorate our entire home! All of the items are from the JOANN Handmade Holiday collection which I absolutely love.

I decided to add decor to the front of the home and in the living room, dining room and kitchen. My theme for my holiday decorating of our Waco home was red and white with a “frosted” look. And the most important decor item has to be the wreaths I added to every window in our home!

I had limited time to decorate for the holidays and I never could have done this by myself. I had a ton of help from my blogging friends: Sarah at Dreaming of Homemaking, Carissa at Bless this Nest, Amy with Cuter Tudor, Leanna with Life By Leanna, and Megan with TxSizedHome. I am so grateful for their help!

Christmas Decorating in the Living Room

I love the living room! The wreaths in the windows of the entire inside of the house are the Christmas frosted holly and red berry wreaths. It took me forever to decide on this style because they had so many great o0ptions to choose from! JOANN has a lot of pillows for the holidays and their red and white assortment was fabulous. I love the red snowflake shell pillow. It is sold as a cover so it was easy to put the cover over one of my existing pillows. The LED candle with holly on the coffee table lights up. And the red and white felt pom pom garland is to die for!

I found two LED tabletop pinecone and berry trees in small and large. I love that they light up. The red and white Whimsy woven throw is perfect for cool December mornings.

We decorated the tree with a large assortment of the Alpine Lodge boxed ornaments and some very wide red ribbon. I also found the small Norway green tree with a burlap base at JOANN. The tree is resting in a vintage wooden box I found at the Round Top Antiques show.

Christmas Decorating in the Dining Room

The centerpiece on the table consists of Christmas sugared berry spray and a faux Cypress branch bush in a tall ceramic crock.

On the table, I tied small Christmas sprigs with red and white ribbon for a festive look.

Christmas Decorating in the Kitchen

I love how the kitchen decor looks. It is amazing how Christmassy the room looks, even with just the Christmas frosted holly red berry wreaths. If you are on a limited budget, put wreaths in your windows. Be sure to check out the inventory at your local JOANN store. They have an incredible selection. I have hung wreaths for twenty years in the windows of our house in South Pasadena and I love them!

I love items on the island in our kitchen. I chose a flocked Norway green tree with burlap, some faux greens, and sugared berry spray. Since the island is where a lot of cooking will happen in our home, I added more Christmas items.

I love these North Pole candy cane holiday towels, Wilton silicone spatula set, and cookies coffee Christmas mugs.

One of my favorite items is this Christmas pillow calendar with pockets. Every day the attached candy cane is moved to the next pocket to indicate the day of the month. It’s a great way to remind guests how many days are left till Christmas.

How to Hang Christmas Wreaths

how to hang christmas wreaths

As you have likely noticed, I love hanging wreaths on our windows and doors every Christmas. I am often asked how I hang the wreaths and today I am going to share the methods I use.

The tools you need to hand your wreaths can consist of Command Strip hooks, small nails or thumbtacks. The Command Strip hooks work great and can be attached to paint, wood, tile, glass, and more. I usually use white thumbtacks. They are so easy to use and leave such a tiny hole that you can’t see them.

This wreath is hung on the back door in the kitchen of our Waco house. To hang this wreath, I used two thumbtacks to secure the ribbon. I also used thumbtacks to hang the wreath on our front door.

The molding in our windows in the Waco home has a lot of layers. As you can see below, I used thumbtacks here as well to hang the wreaths in the windows.

Christmas Decorating on the Front Porch

I added minimal decor outside which is just enough to add some holiday spirit. I found Spider pine, pinecone, and red berry garlands and Christmas red velvet  bows to add some wonderful color.

christmas decorating the front of the home

I found a great holiday Christmas pine wreath at JOANN for the front door with the perfect red and white ribbon.

Doesn’t this look adorable? I love how our newly remodeled Waco home looks decorated for the holidays.
