Happy Mother’s Day! Today, whether you are celebrating together or apart, I hope you feel all of the love that surrounds you.

Today, my daughter-in-law Charlotte celebrates her first Mother’s Day and I celebrate my 32nd. I miss my mother terribly and today she would be celebrating her 70th Mother’s Day. I am grateful for all of the incredible women in my life. Whether it is your first, your 32nd or you are celebrating the moms in your life, I wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Season 3 Volume 20

Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!

About Me

Grandma Lala and Baby Graham

Mother’s Day is incredibly special to me because it’s a time when I am surrounded by the love and appreciation of my beautiful family. As a mother to three amazing sons—Andrew, Matthew, and Michael—I have had the privilege of witnessing their growth, accomplishments, and the unconditional love they bring to my life. They have filled my days with joy, laughter, and a sense of purpose that words cannot fully express.

My husband Dave has been my rock and partner, supporting me through the highs and lows of motherhood.

And, I am blessed with a beautiful daughter-in-law, Charlotte, and the recent arrival of our adorable grandson, Graham, my heart feels even more complete!

Charlotte, Graham, and Andrew

On Mother’s Day, I am reminded of the blessings and happiness that come with being a mother, and it fills me with immense gratitude and warmth.

I miss you Mom and love you with all of my heart.

Life of a Blogger
See that dark cabinet in the back of our living room? Soon that will be stripped down to its natural wood.

I have at least four pieces of furniture that I need to strip and refinish. OK, if I’m honest, there are probably ten, but let’s start with four pieces. If I say it here, out loud, then I am accountable to all of you to get them done!

And just so you know, I might have splurged and bought a tool that I think is going to make this much easier.

I have gathered all of the supplies I need and now I just have to start! I promise to take you on this journey to show you the before, during, and after of each piece. No more excuses!

The white chippy white table is so chippy that every time I move it, it sheds paint everywhere.
I cannot wait to strip this down to its natural wood!

My Biggest Challenge This Week

A gorgeous NYC view

I spent most of this past week in New York at an Amazon Live conference and met so many incredible people. You would not believe how much I learned!

Jennifer Maker and me in NYC
I was so excited to meet and get to know Jennifer Maker. She is the queen of crafts!

My brain is on overdrive and I have a gazillion ideas of things I want to try. I might even be transforming a room in our home into something else. Hmmm … wait and see!

Of course, I am struggling with finding the time to implement all of my ideas.

A French country table with sage and white buffalo plaid table linen is set in front of a French door. There is a large floral arrangement with large roses in various shades of pink, peach, and cream. Another flower arrangement hangs from the chandelier echoing the arrangement on the table.

My dear friend Courtney @frenchcountrycottage shared the most beautiful idea for using a wreath over your dining table. I can’t wait to try this myself!

A beautiful potager garden with a home in the background. The flower garden is framed with an arch made of twigs while the vegetable garden is in the background.

If you don’t already follow my friend Loi @loithai, you should check out his beautiful and inspiring account. This gorgeous garden is an incredible inspiration to get outside and dig!

15+ blue and white plates arranged ina gorgeous flat lay photo

I think I finally found someone who has more blue and white plates than I do! Although, I do have many of these patterns! This photo is from the book Living with Blue & White and the collection belongs to Casa de Perrin

It’s peony season!! If you want to be able to grow and harvest spectacular blooms, check out Nikki Irving of Flourish Flower Farm‘s book Growing Flowers.

Even though I was in New York this past week, I still shared a blog post each day. We began the week with Mother’s Day Gift Guides and then a beautiful flower arrangement. Next, I shared how I finished the kitchen at the beach house along with some ideas for setting a table for Mother’s Day dining. I also shared some pretty crazy stories about our beach house renovation as well as my spectacular new shades from Calico in our primary bedroom.

Lately, I have been focused on working to include more healthy foods in all of my menus. Martha shared 8 Superfoods Dietitians Say You Should Be Eating Now.

Next week is going to be so amazing because Matt and Micheal will be in town! I have lots to share including tips to get your backyard ready for summer, the best summer salad recipe, and a new summer DIY pillow (that I actually haven’t even made yet!) I can’t wait to share our newly decorated living room for summer, a controversial opinion about kitchens, and a birthday of something in our home!

Something New

We are trying something new and would love your feedback. We have a new opportunity to simplify your Amazon shopping experience while you are on my blog. The way we shared Amazon with you previously, and above, when you clicked on an Amazon link, it took you to Amazon and then you had to come back to the post.

Why are we trying this? We finally found a way for you to shop the post without having to leave the blog. This will make it an easier and more enjoyable experience for you.

If you want to see additional product information, click on the little “i” in the product box. When you want to purchase an item, simply click “+Add Product” and it is added to your cart. When you are ready to check out, simply click on the cart and proceed to Amazon checkout. If you don’t want to shop the post, that’s fine too.

We work hard to curate and share items that you see in the post so that you don’t have to go hunting for them! We think this new format will make your reading and shopping experience a better one.

I would love to know how you like this new experience. I think this is pretty amazing!
