My New Craft Room and Sunday Morning Coffee

|

I can’t believe I pulled this off. In two weeks I managed to reorganize most of my crafting supplies and I now have the perfect craft room.

To be honest, my crafting supplies were in three different places in our home and the stress from it was hindering my crafting abilities. So I decided to move everything up to the third floor! And now I have the perfect work area and craft room and I have already started crafting for fall and the holidays.

Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!

About Me

The craft room project is about two-thirds done!

I started by cleaning out the 3rd floor which is what we call a mother-in-law suite filled with craft room storage everywhere. In a not-so-organized way.

But I have been working for two weeks and I got rid of the pool table, moved many things downstairs, set up my new Dreambox 2, and added two new rugs!

I also bought a coffee table at the Pottery Barn Outlet yesterday to replace the massive painted coffee table/storage cabinet that weighed hundreds of pounds. It hasn’t quite made it up to the room but it’s light wood and will look great up here.

I love the decor and love working and crafting up here. It is such a different look and feel, and even though the couch is old, it’s a great place to sit!

Just for fun, here are a few BEFORE and RE-ORGANIZING the 3rd-floor photos. Oh my!

You might have noticed that I mentioned I was two-thirds done. What is still left to do?

I have the most amazing craft room storage closet on the 3rd floor and I need to finish reorganizing it!

Craft Room Storage

This photo is not current but it will look like this again when I am done!

And … I have a fun new crafting tool that just arrived this week. It will go on the shelf in the back and I cannot wait to learn how to use it and share my new projects with you!

Any guesses? Stay tuned!

The Dream Box 2 which is the perfect storage solution for all of your craft supplies.

If you missed my blog post about my new Dreambox 2, then you need to check this out! It is by far the smartest solution for storing your craft items I have ever seen.

It folds up into a cabinet that looks so nice it could fit in any room in your home. How clever is that?

It took about five hours to put together. Create Room does sell a version of the Dreambox 2 that is pre-assembled but it wouldn’t fit up the staircase to our 3rd floor.

Fortunately, I was able to get it assembled thanks to Task Rabbit!

My Biggest Challenge This Week

The deck on our third floor with Arhaus furniture, a fire pit, and dinner decor items.

You may have heard there is a Tropical Storm heading to Southern California today. It has been about 100 years since we had a tropical storm and 150 years since we had a hurricane in Los Angeles.

I hope it won’t be anything more than a rainstorm but there is a lot of concern about wind, rain, flooding, and power outages. Aargh.

I hope everyone is safe.

Just to be prepared, I drove to Ventura yesterday morning and cleared as much stuff as I could off of our deck at the beach house.

I moved some of the chairs, the umbrella, cushions, and anything that wasn’t a really heavy piece of furniture inside the house.

Let’s hope this all blows over, with very light wind and rain!

Fall arrived this past week! I shared three fall DIY projects which included a ceramic vase, a leaf wreath, and a table runner. Crafting has been on my mind and it was because of the arrival of my Dreambox 2 craft storage closet which I also shared. I had fun with new fall decor in our living room and I shared lots of Q&A about our beach house remodel.

  1. Leslie ,your craft room is beautiful… a dream in many minds I’m sure! I pray you all stay safe during the hurricane 🙏🏻.

  2. I’m so envious! Someday I would love to be able to afford a Dreambox. The craft room is really looking great. Hope everything survives with no big problems in Ventura. Wishing we were getting some rain here in Texas, we sure need it.

  3. awesome post!!
Hoping Hurricane Hillary is kind to Southern California!
Loved viewing your new upstairs craft room..especially Dream Box2!
I agree with you regarding BHG the Best Paint Color according to your Zodiac sign!
A Resounding NO!! I am a Scorpio..yes i love Red in it’s purest form, but i also love Blue..from cornflower to deep Navy..also certain shades of sunny, creamy yellow..
Pure White is my mainstay..so to say deep dark Burgandy should be my color..wrongo!!
My sis is a Sagittarius.. she is all earthy greens and browns..detests Fuschia as well as purples..I could go on and on with more examples..bottom line I totally disagree!!

  4. I am so happy for you! What a beautiful and organized crafting space. I have the Dream Box2 on my wish list and I’m so thrilled that you have one. I love seeing one in use and getting ideas for how to best use mine when I get it.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for all of the amazing inspiration.

  5. I say NO to Leo, Joy of Orange! Love to wear it but not in my coastal theme here in Texas. Have all my Valley girlfriends keeping me up to date on Hillary. Been through a big hurricane in Houston once, not my kind of thrill.

    1. It hasn’t been horrible! Definitely was prepared for worse- but hurricane plus earthquake, what is happening! 😆

  6. I can agree with my zodiac color fully! Neutrals definitely calm me and our other homes all had green in them! Currently we’re renovating a farmhouse built in 1898, I’ve painted all the walls PureWhite, but I was determined that there’d be no green at this house! Our accent color is blue-which is almost green anyway😂
