Let’s Welcome Fall and Sunday Morning Coffee
Labor Day has come and gone and I think it is time to officially welcome fall. I have so many fall decorating, crafting, and baking ideas!
It’s been really crazy around here and I will share more about that later this week. My book comes out in just over two weeks, we are hosting a launch party here in two weeks (you can still grab your spot here) and I will be heading on a book tour right after that! Of course, I am also still decorating and enjoying that it is time to welcome fall!
Season 2 Volume 34
Today I am pleased to share with you Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun.
My new book, A Home to Share, is available for Pre-order now! Click here for more details!
About Me
Do you decorate for fall?
I will be honest. Many years ago, when the boys were little (which was long before I started My 100 Year Old Home) I didn’t really change my decor, except for Halloween and Christmas.
I just didn’t have the time becauseI was spending every minute running around watching my boys play their sports.
And I loved every second of it.
But then the boys grew up and I refocused my job from art to My 100 Year Old Home everything was suddenly focused on home decor. Now I restyle our entire home five times a year because I love decorating our home for the seasons. I have been doing this for almost six years and I will never turn back.
I should clarify that when I say “restyle”, I really mean adding some florals, pillow covers, DIYs, and a bit more. The restyling does make a difference in every room in our home, but I actually use a small amount of decor and have a small budget.
If you consider the fact that most of my decor is either homemade or recycled from previous years, then the cost to decorate every season is next to nothing
The colors of fall are so gorgeous and I love decorating with oranges, pinks, golds, and greens.
Welcome Fall
Something New
Over the past few weeks, I have gone a bit crazy organizing our home.
I am not exactly sure why, but maybe this is my way to welcome fall.
Just yesterday my husband Dave rented a truck and drove to Ventura with all of the items for the beach house that have been accumulating in our home. It was a full truckload!
I have also been cleaning cabinets and donating a ton of stuff which has resulted in making a huge difference in our home. It feels so good!
The only room that is suffering right now is the 3rd floor.
We are putting together 85 gift boxes (which include my book) and there is stuff everywhere! Just take a look below!
All of these boxes will be filled and sealed by Tuesday and then they will be shipped out the next day so our 3rd-floor office should be back to normal soon.
In case you didn’t know, we work up on the 3rd floor and I cannot wait until everything is back to normal.
This week I am writing a blog post to share how crazy these past few weeks have been getting ready for my book launch. It’s been so busy!

My Favorite Room This Week
The kitchen is my favorite room this week because I have practically lived in the kitchen! I am cooking for the launch party so after I get everything done for the blog, I head into the kitchen every night to cook dinner and then I cook the rest of the evening for the party.
This might sound stressful, but honestly, I have cooked for our Christmas party for so many years, that this actually feels normal to me. This time though, I get to do it all over again for the Christmas party!
Stay tuned for lots of stories on my Instagram as I am preparing and cooking for the book launch party!

Seeing all your boxes to ship out, I just heard of a site called Pirate Ship from the financial guy Clark Howard who is all about saving money. I don’t have any affiliation with either. I have been an Ebay seller for years and am going to try it. They say you get shpg rates like the big companies but this is directed to small businesses or occasional shippers with savings up to 80%. While I am a little skeptical of that figure, anything would be great. I believe it covers UPS and USPS. You just use them to print your labels and it’s free to use. They make their money from UPS and USPS. Free account to ship. It’s the same process that you normally ship by scheduling a pick up or dropping off your packages. Just wanted to give you the info in case it works for you.
You have a great eye. I love reading your blog. Thank you
