About Me – The Big Announcement is Tomorrow!

Summer Fun Outdoor Party

I am usually pretty good at keeping secrets.

But sometimes you work on something that comes from the heart and takes so much out of you that you just want to get on top of a building and scream about it to everyone.

Finally, I get to do that tomorrow.

No, I won’t be screaming on top of a building.

Although I could get up on our roof. Ok, maybe not.

But I will be sharing my big announcement here, on all of my social media, and pretty much everywhere else you can find me.

I cannot wait. Because we are going to have some fun!

Haven Conference

I am so excited to attend my fifth Haven Conference next week! Haven is a bloggers conference and it’s my favorite conference all year! I know it isn’t new (since it’s my fifth!) but this year I am a mentor and I am speaking to the group about a very important topic, How to Make Money as an Influencer. (It will be on Saturday at 2:45 pm so come join me.)

If you are planning on attending, please come find me as I would love to meet you!

My Favorite Room This Week

The Transformation of Our Third Floor Apartmenr

We are back up on the 3rd floor!

Which, in case you didn’t know, is the worldwide headquarters of My 100 Year Old Home.

About a year ago I figured out that having an office for three people on the third floor, instead of in our family room, kept my work away from my everyday life.

I know you are probably laughing at this point because in truth, how would I possibly keep the main floor of our home away from my everyday life? Especially since it’s the focus of most of my blog anyway?

There is something about “going to work” that creates a separation between home and the office, even if it is only two flights of stairs away!

Regardless, we are back on the third floor, working together, and

Besides, I am so much more productive up here!

My 100 Year Old Home Offices

Just for fun, I thought it might be fun to share some before and remodel photos of the third floor. When we first bought our house from Dave’s parents, the third floor was truly an attic playroom. Ten years later, we decided to remodel the third floor by gutting the whole thing, removing the ceiling, adding a bathroom, and “modernizing” it! It’s a great guest suite or a Worldwide Headquarters!

  2. Hi Leslie,
Today was a fun blog to read. Hope you enjoy yourself in Atlanta and then with your family. I was admiring at the beginning of the post the “charger” or is it a place mat, not sure. It was the floral base made out of maybe ceramic. Where did you get that lovely piece? It’s gorgeous. Cindy 🙂
