A Trip to Provence France and Sunday Morning Coffee

A trip? It’s true! I am heading off in a few weeks for a trip to Provence France for a week of flea market shopping. How exciting is that?

I am traveling with my best friend Maryliz and we are going to shop at the flea markets in Provence France until we drop. And have lattes every morning and wine and cheese every night. And so much fun discovering Provence!

A Trip to Provence France

A Trip to Provence France

I have always wanted to go to Provence France. And of course, if I was going to go to Provence France then I absolutely was also going to shop at the flea markets.

But did that kind of trip sound fun to the rest of my family? Not so much.

My boys like golfing trips. Hehe.

So I am going to Provence! I am traveling with my best friend Maryliz and we are not only going to enjoy France but we are going to celebrate all of the work we have accomplished at My 100 Year Old Home this past year.

Doesn’t that sound like a good reason to go to Provence France?

We leave for France two weeks from today which seems crazy! Perhaps that is because I have been planning this for a very long time.

Tracey Leber from French Larkspur is coordinating the trip and you can learn about her French vintage shopping tours here. The trip sounds amazing and is limited to four people. This means we will have the chance to learn a lot about Provence. And shopping!

Some of the villages that Tracey will be taking us to are Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Lacoste, Gordes, and Ménerbes, to name a few! The area of Provence that we will be staying in and exploring is called the Luberon. Our week will be filled with flea marketing, exploring/sightseeing days with visits to some brocante shops, and even a favorite vineyard for a tasting and lunch.

I cannot wait.

About Me

How to Make Affordable Summer Wedding Flowers

Remember the heart surgery I had in November? It was a procedure called Ablation and it was a total success.

Until this week.

Yep. It’s back and it hasn’t been fun. But I am taking some medicine and everything is under control. We will give it a few months to see if I need another surgery or if the medicine will work instead. But I have to admit it was really disappointing. I was so sure this was behind me.

But it’s ok. I have my amazing family and friends who will help me smile and laugh through this. And it’s not that big of a deal. It’s more of an inconvenience.

Actually my favorite this week is a Project with a Lot of Rooms.

I spent the entire day at the beach house yesterday (with my best friend Maryliz) and we spent hours going through a gazillion projects. Yesterday was all about making changes to the rough electrical and plumbing, laying out furniture plans on the floors, and figuring out windows and doors.

I should probably admit this remodel is way more work than I ever expected. But it’s worth every minute, hour, day, and week of work because I think it is going to be a wonderful home for our family when it is complete

I will be sharing a blog post tomorrow about the progress of the remodel and cannot wait to share it with you.

I can commiserate about the afib, I will be hoping meds work for you & wishing you well, I know it’s not fun, nor is the dealing w it…….

But the GOOD stuff!! So jealous of your trip! But my big question – does the tour company handle shipping your finds home for you?
    Best, Teri

  6. So excited for your trip! What a perfect way to celebrate your hard work! And I sincerely hope your new medication will do the trick. I just returned from France (a trip with my daughter) and it was fabulous. The Luberon was our favorite area, you are hitting up all the best spots, Gordes, Bonnieux-oh! I can’t wait to see what you find! Enjoy and take good care.

  7. sure hope your health problems are minor, praying for you.

  9. So happy for you to get to go to Provence. I would love that particular trip. The only problem I would have is trying to figure out how to get all the beautiful flowers home! Glad to hear your ablation was successful. I had one several years ago after putting up with arrhythmia for quite a few years. It was such a relief to get off the medication and not worry about possibly passing out while driving or having to go to the hospital to get my tachycardia under control.
Enjoy your blog so much. The posts about the weddings were so fun and beautiful.
I will be following along on Instagram to see what you are up to in Provence while being a light tint of green from envy.
    Profitez de votre voyage
