Beach House Kitchen Remodel – Sunday Morning Coffee

| |

We are finally starting the remodel of our beach house. And I think I am the most excited about the remodel of our beach house kitchen.

I have always said that the kitchen is the heart of our home. But our existing kitchen is so small and I cannot believe our entire family will finally fit in our new beach house kitchen.

Thanks also for joining me for Sunday morning coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Today I am sharing my weekly thoughts about entertaining, decor, crafts, recipes, and our remodeling plans for the beach house kitchen.

The Beach House Kitchen Remodel

I mentioned last week that I spent a few days packing up the beach house. We are not moving. Instead, we are actually remodeling.

We love our Ventura beach house so much and it’s hard to believe we have had it for almost nine years. But our beach house is one bedroom short, the kitchen is really tiny, and we would love to make better use of our beautiful views.

Two years ago we decided to hire an architect to see if we could remodel our home to better fit our family. After lots of revisions, I love the plans and am so excited that we are doing a lot to the house.

We will expand from three bedrooms to five bedrooms and from two bathrooms to four bathrooms. We creating a much larger beach house kitchen and adding a rooftop deck.

And what am I most excited about?

Our new beach house kitchen. Why?

Well, for someone who likes to entertain as much as I do … this is a tiny space.

I can barely open the oven and the dishwasher and our galley kitchen is a one cook kitchen. Add the fact that our lab Sport likes to sit in the kitchen while I cook makes it feel even smaller.

There are two big reasons why I love our beach house kitchen remodel. One, of course, is the fact that I will have a much larger kitchen and an island, a dining area, and an entire wall for beverages (such as coffee, wine, water, and more).

But the other reason is that we are going to carefully take apart our existing kitchen (as in the entire thing) and move it to my friend’s condo.

How awesome is that? I love that the cabinets, appliances, and hopefully countertops are all going to be used to redo a kitchen!

It makes my heart so happy and I cannot wait to share with you not only our beach house kitchen remodel but my friend’s kitchen remodel too!

Something New

For the past few months, I have been sharing Amazon Lives every week. What’s an amazon Live? It’s a live broadcast where I share some of my favorite items I have purchased on Amazon.

This past week we started a new format and I am so excited. We went digital and are using Broadcasting Software. What’s great about the new change? When I share an item I can now share photos of the item in my home and also videos! This means you can see these photos on your screen on your phone or computer.

I also love that I can now share items such as furniture, rugs, hanging chandeliers, and more. Before it was too hard to access them with my camera but now I can share photos!

Have you seen any of my Amazon Live Broadcasts? I would love any feedback you have. Please email me your comments and suggestions at [email protected].

My favorite room this week has to be our third floor.

If I showed you a photo of how the third floor currently looks, you would be shocked. I have been organizing the entire third floor which includes all of our storage and my craft storage room. In the last year, it somehow became completely out of control.

I am still in the midst of organizing so it looks pretty bad now.

But, there is hope.

We also set a studio area up on the third floor for our Amazon Live Broadcasts. This is such a relief that we aren’t disrupting our home every few days and that the equipment doesn’t have to be moved around every time.

I am not done, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Craft Room Storage

Did you know the third floor is the WWHQ for MY 100 Year Old Home? Yep, it’s where I spend most of my days.

Hence, organizing this floor is key.
