Your Top Ten Favorite Home Decor Items in 2024 and Sunday Morning Coffee
I am continuing my series highlighting Your Top Ten Favorites in 2024, and today, I am sharing your Top Ten Decor Items.
We all have those favorite items in our homes that are our favorites. As you read this today, consider your favorite home decor items. These are all the most popular home decor items you loved on my blog this past year.
Season 4 Volume 51
Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s have some fun!
About Me
I cannot believe this is the last week of 2024. It has been an excellent year for me. I lost 35 lbs, am healthier than I have been in quite some time, and have organized my life so I have less stress, more free time, and opportunities to travel more than ever.
It doesn’t get much better than that!
Your Ten Top Favorite Home Decor Items
It’s been fun looking back at all of my blog posts in 2024, and today, I am sharing your favorite Top Ten Decor Items I shared this year.
Here they are, in no particular order, of course.
Frame TV
You are probably not surprised that our Samsung Frame TV was one of the most favorited decor items. I love ours so much (and we have a few) because I never have to look at a big dark screen on our wall. When I utilize the art feature, it transforms our television into a piece of art.
Don’t you think our TV looks like a piece of art? Imagine how different it would look if there was a black screen hanging on our wall.

Faux Flower Arrangements and Centerpieces
Why do I love faux flower arrangements and centerpieces? I love fresh flowers in our home but I don’t like disposing of dead flower arrangements in our home.
Faux flowers have come a long way in the past few years as they are more realistic, and the options available are plentiful.
I often compromise and create arrangements with both real and faux flowers. I still have to pull out the wilted flowers, but the arrangement can still exist in our home for a long time.

Modern Coastal Vintage Decor
Our beach house decor is Modern Coastal Vintage Decor. I know many of you haven’t heard of this type of decor. Why?
Because I made it up.
I must say it is my favorite. Mixing vintage with new, with a coastal twist, is a perfect theme for our beach house. I must admit that our Pasadena home now has a few home decor items in that style, too!
So many of you added some of the decor items in this blog post to your decor! I love that.

Hanging Picture Frames
One of my favorite decor items is a collection of frames on a wall. It is likely those frames will include family photos. What could be a better way to decorate the walls in your home?
You all consider these frames to be your favorites, too. I added framed family photos in the beach house in the hallway and our primary bedroom.
I love them so much. And hanging them is so easy since most come with a guide!
Here is the link to all of my favorite frames.
Home Decor Lighting
It took me a while, but I now consider lighting an essential part of home decor. Lighting can make a huge statement in any room, whether a table lamp or a chandelier.
Many of you already consider the lighting in our home to be decor. There are so many fantastic options, and I love adding metals and accents to our home with lighting!
The most popular lights you all loved are the two lights hanging over our kitchen island at the beach. They are the Antique Brass/White Light Fixtures and are pictured above. I love the look of these and also the amazing price!

Kitchen Stools
I not only bought new kitchen stools for the beach house, but I also bought the same ones for our kitchen in South Pasadena. They are both from Serena and Lily and are called the Balboa stools. I bought them on sale and at the Serena and Lily outlet, but I do know they are often on sale online at Serena and Lily.
I loved that so many of you reached out asking about these stools. They are the best.

Seasonal Throw Pillows
One of the easiest ways to update a room each season is to add colorful throw pillows. I have one set of pillow inserts and a drawer full of pillow covers. I can instantly change the room’s feel with a quick pillow cover update.
So many of you love the pillow covers I share. You can see many of my favorites in the Spring Pillow blog post I linked below.
This summer DIY lumbar pillow I made with the vintage swimsuits was a favorite of all of you!

Glassware
I have curated quite a glassware collection over the last thirty years. Some are vintage, but surprisingly, most of my glassware collection was purchased at home stores and on Amazon.
I love using colored glassware on my tables because the entire table sparkles when the light filters through.
I would love to know which are your favorites!

Accent Area Rugs
Area rugs can make or break a room.
I bought rugs for the beach house in almost every room and replaced them on our third floor in my craft room. A lovely area rug pulls a room together, making it much cozier.
It seems that in the last few years, a lot of the rug prices have become a lot more competitive. And my favorite brand Loloi, is very affordable!
You all loved the rugs in our beach house! You can see them below.

My Latest Project
2025 is only a few days away, and I have been so busy updating my brand, My 100-Year-Old Home. You will likely notice some changes on January 1st with my blog format, newsletter, social media, and blog content.
You will also see more of me as I have decided to share more of my day-to-day life. It’s time for me to come out from behind the camera.
And yes, that makes me nervous.
I am ready for some changes, and I hope you are too!

My Biggest Challenge This Week
We spent Christmas week in Northern California, the first time in a gazillion years that we hadn’t been home in South Pasadena.
And guess what?
It was wonderful. Dave and I drove up on the 23rd with a car stuffed full of gifts, and we had the best time with our family!
The only thing I am struggling with is returning to a home full of Christmas stuff that needs a lot of organization. But I have a plan.
This past year, our home has been through some significant organizational changes. Remember the vast sale I held in January? That experience helped me realize that I don’t need to keep everything, and since the sale, I have been slowly giving more and more “stuff” away.
We finished reorganizing the basement in November, which was amazing, and the last area that needs attention is the third floor.
That is my big project for January 2025.
I begin this week with all of my Christmas decor. It’s time to let go of the decor that I haven’t used. I hope you are ready to share this journey with me!
- Take down the Christmas decor. And organize and donate anything I am not using.
- Finish the brand updates for My 100 Year Old Home.
- Start the 3rd-floor reorganization project.
