Finishing the Bunk Room at the Beach House

|

I haven’t really shared the bunk room at the beach house and I can’t believe it’s almost done. Thanks to Overstock it looks amazing!

This bedroom is located downstairs in an area that used to be our garage! Since we bumped out the front of the garage ten feet, we had enough room in the back to add another bedroom. Fortunately, the room has a king bed and two additional queen beds which we also refer to as, the bunk room. I love how everything from Overstock furnished this bedroom perfectly!

The Bunk Room at the Beach House

This bedroom is spacious considering it has two queen beds and a king! It’s perfect for family gatherings, girls’ weekends, golf weekends, and grandkids!

We didn’t originally intend to have bunkbeds in this room but after the bathroom was installed I realized there was just enough room to install two queen bunk beds.

The Before Photos

This area used to be the back of our garage and it was accessed from our front entryway. The garage was four steps down to the floor, but as you can see we raised up the floor (and created some great storage space underneath).

Outfitting the Room with Overstock

Can you even believe this is the same room?

I partnered with Overstock and found all of the mattresses, bedding, and the most gorgeous rug! Overstock has everything you need for the home and their prices are unbelievable. I downloaded the Overstock app to my phone which allows me to keep up to date with the Deal Alerts. Their products are on-trend and of great quality!

Furnishing the Bunk Room

The Mattresses

With three beds in the room, we needed just as many mattresses!

Overstock is having its Semi-Annual Mattress Sale and be sure to check it out. The prices are great and the quality brands are all on-trend.

We used three Zinus 10-inch Green Tea Gel Memory Foam mattresses which included a king and two queen mattresses for the bunk beds.

I love that all you have to do is open the bags and the mattresses will expand. They encourage you to step on them or have your kids jump on them to help the mattresses fluff up. Since we couldn’t technically jump on the bunkbeds we crawled and rolled on them instead!

These mattresses are just perfect for bunk and king beds. I love that they conform to your body but are also firm. They are so comfortable.

The Bunk Room Rug

This rug is the Alexander Home Hand-hooked Traditional Mosaic Wool Rug in Seafoam Green.

I love that it is hand hooked and made from wool which will last.

The Bunk Room Bedding

The sheets on the king bed and queen bunk beds are so on trend and are Tommy Bahama Cotton Percale Bed Sheet Sets. Constructed of cool cotton percale, these sheets are brushed for added softness, offering a breathable, comfortable feel.

Aren’t the sage green pineapples adorable?

At the end of the bunks, we added the Cheer Collection All Season Down Alternative Hypoallergenic Comforters in sage which is ideal for those with allergies.

They are also the perfect weight for our Southern California beach climate.

On the king bed is the Carson Carrington Jorpeland Light Khaki Coverlet Set. This Jorpeland quilt set is woven from soft polyester microfiber and features pick stitching for a unique, trendy look.

The set includes a comforter and two shams.

Overstock Making Dream Homes Come True

My dreams came true getting this room ready for guests. I still need art and some more decor so I am heading back to Overstock to see what I can find! And, my contractor is making a ladder for the top bunk so that will be added too.
