My Texas Trip and Sunday Morning Coffee

I am leaving tomorrow morning for a week-long trip to Texas and I cannot wait. Waco and Round Top, here I come!

It’s been a while since I have been to Waco and this trip is overdue! But I am so excited. Also, thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun.

About Me

The Magnolia Silos at the famous Magnolia Market in Waco Texas.

I cannot believe I will be in Waco tomorrow! I am staying at my house for three days and I am going to be giving the house a spring refresh!

I decided to add some sage green accents and I have ordered a lot of fun decor items to refresh our home. Since our home is an Airbnb, I selected items that are versatile and will wear well.

Next week I will share everything that I have done and even share some before and after photos.

After Waco, I head to Round Top to join some of my favorite girlfriends for five days of shopping.

I won’t be buying much but I promise to share my finds every day! Would you like me to share everything about Round Top? Let me know.

On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.

Here are some of the items I bought for the Waco House spring refresh.

My Latest Project

My Latest Project

My newly planted kitchen garden has grown 4" - 6" in one week!

It’s only been a little over a week and my garden has grown so much! Most of the plants are 2″ – 3″ taller but some have grown 6″ and more.

If you missed my previous posts about how I prepared for planting and how I planted my kitchen garden then just click the links.

I did have to cut a few leaves that were being bothered by pests. I am guessing maybe slugs but Mother Nature has helped a lot with all of the rain we have had this week.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love my garden.

My Biggest Challenge This Week

I hosted Book Club this week and it was so much fun. But, it was a lot of work.

All 14 of us read Kristin Hannah’s newest book called The Women. It is a very powerful book about female nurses and their accomplishments and struggles while serving in the Vietnam War. It is a very powerful book and I loved it. Every single one of us loved the book!

Oh wait, I didn’t read the book, I listened to it. I love listening to books! Because I can multi-task, such as cook, clean, drive, or organize! But I only do things I can do that don’t detract me from listening.

As the host, I selected the book and also prepared the dinner. Of course, I decided to cook a Thai meal to fit the theme of the book. I made Peanut Slaw Salad, Thai Glazed Chicken, Thai Basil Chicken, and Spiced Chicken Pad Thai.

It was so good.

This week's to do list.
  • Have a fabulous time in Texas!
  • Only buy vintage items at Round Top that fit in my suitcase. Nothing more!

A lot happened this week and it all started with my newly planted Kitchen Garden! Then I shred lots of Easter ideas with a pillow, a cake, and lots of easter decor and eggs. I also shared a fun easter table.

Martha shared How to Keep Bagged Salad Fresh for Longer, According to Food Scientists. Of course, you could also plant a kitchen garden and you won’t need to worry!

Next week I have a lot of new things to share which include my redone primary bedroom, a new spring wreath DIY, my favorite abstract art, and a new electric grill. I also have two more Easter ideas which are some gorgeous copper foil eggs and a fun table runner.
