Family Gatherings and Sunday Morning Coffee

Things are good and even getting better. Last week I visited my kids and grandson. And in a week we have our first family gathering in Ventura!

The beach house is ready and I have stocked up on everything I need for my grandson’s visit. This is the first time our entire family will be at our newly remodeled home in Ventura. This should be the first of many family gatherings at the beach house!

Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!

About Me

I just spent a few days in Northern California visiting my family! And that included our grandson Graham. My heart is still so full and happy and I could hold that little guy all day long.

I think I did. For three days!

And, the best news is our entire family is arriving in less than one week at the beach house for an extended family vacation. I am so excited and still spending time getting everything ready.

Getting the Beach House Ready for Our Grandson

My daughter-in-law Charlotte and I spent some time deciding on any baby items I could get for the beach house to make their travel and time at the beach house easier. There are so many great things (and so many things new to me!) and here is the list!

The living area at our beach house with a large fireplace, a frame tv, a window overlooking the ocean, and a couch, rug, coffee table and chair from Pottery Barn. The vintage cabinet, marble bust, and round rattan mirror are at the top of the staircase.

I have been completely consumed with finishing the beach house. Yesterday I shared a tour of our beach house because it is finally done!

And yes, I love it,

I spent a lot of time furnishing our beach house with items to make everyone’s visit more comfortable but aren’t visible in a beach house tour. This includes things like bedside chargers, towels, beach towels, large coffee mugs, shampoo and toiletries, sheets, comforters, etc.

I call them Beach House Must Haves but they are things that most of you haven’t seen before. But they are awesome and a total necessity.

It’s all the stuff that doesn’t show but is a must. And it adds up!

My Biggest Challenge This Week

Last-minute changes are always fun.

Ok, maybe not.

But I am a bit of a perfectionist and I really want things to look good.

So, I made a few changes at the beach house. I changed out the comforter in the king bedroom. When I ordered the blue one, it looked a lot lighter and muted in the photo. I did not like the blue at all so I ordered the same set in a different color.

And I changed it to white. Thank heavens.

A few months ago I ordered some peel-and-stick wallpaper for our primary bathroom but decided we didn’t need it. So it’s now getting installed in our walk-in closet tomorrow in time for the closets to be installed on Thursday.

Gold and white wallpaper for our beach house primary bedroom walk-in closet.

I do love this design. But it’s a last-minute (even though there really isn’t time) project!

What do you think of the wallpaper?

Ok, so other than organizing a few things, that is it for the projects until after our family vacation!

Plus, I shared an amazing strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich recipe. What a fun week!

  1. Hi Leslie I live in NorCal and was hoping to find out when you are planning your garage sale – I want to make sure to clear my calendar 😻

  2. Your grandson is so precious Leslie. What a lucky little boy to be born into such a loving, warm and talented family. He is nestled perfectly in your arms as I’m sure has a very tight grip around your heart.
I think your beach house is so lovely, cozy, warm and as classy as the lady who executed it’s design. Enjoy every moment spent there with your beautiful family.
