A Trip to France and Sunday Morning Coffee

It is hard to believe I was on one of the most amazing trips two years ago. Today, I can’t help looking back at our Provence trip.
My best friend Maryliz and I spent ten days in Provence with a small group of amazing women, and we had the most fantastic time. Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. And happy Father’s Day!

Season 4 Volume 24

About Me

Maryliz and I traveled to Provence two years ago for a fantastic vintage flea market shopping trip. It was a lifetime trip, and we loved it so much!

I love that everything I bought in France has found homes in our Pasadena house and Ventura. Here is one of the vintage chandeliers I purchased for our beach house kitchen!

We took the trip with French Larkspur, and Tracey is a fantastic host. Her trips are all small and so wonderful. The apartment we stayed at was incredible.

My Latest Project

You might be surprised to learn that I am a bit of a procrastinator. I know that I get a lot of things done, but I always have a list of things that I know I need to get done, but I never seem to make it to the top of my To-do list.
That is all about to change.
I am focused on the beach house first and finally finishing a few things that weren’t part of our remodel that need to get done.
I am heading to the beach this week to get the sink and faucet replaced in the bathroom pictured above. This bathroom wasn’t part of the remodel, but the sink is chipped, and the faucet needs replacing.
And it’s happening on Tuesday.
Did I mention I should have done this a year ago? Ugh.

I also had to get some locks replaced, which is happening this week.
Finally.
Next up on the list? A few things in our Pasadena home.

My Biggest Challenge This Week

I have found a new hobby that I want to try, but you might think I am crazy.
I have been following @deck.to.farm.charm for a while, and she makes the most incredible doll houses.
Just look at the one in the photo above!
I am obsessed with her and want to make a dollhouse like this. But …
I want to make it look like our house.

Which is not an easy project. First, I need to design the plans for building the house. But while doing that, I need to make sure it is on a scale of 1/12 so everything that I make (or buy) for the inside will fit.
I did find plans to build a dollhouse that is similar to ours. Except, of course, the roof is all wrong. (Seriously, who has a roof like ours?) And the staircase is on the wrong side.
Amazingly, I think I can make most of the furniture, windows, and doors.
How cool would it be for the grandkids to play with a dollhouse of our house?
(OK, maybe after they are old enough not to trash it entirely.)
But I am not giving up.
Unless you think I am crazy. Am I?

- Finish the repairs at the beach house.
- Wine dinner with Nicholas Jay Windery, which is one of my favorites!
- Start the repair list for My 100 Year Old Home.
- Replant some of my kitchen garden and plan to plant pumpkins soon.
