A Nutcracker Christmas and Sunday Morning Coffee

The Nutcracker Christmas story is one of those magical Christmas traditions. If you love the story, you will love this table I created.
Christmas is just over a month away! If you want a unique way to set a Christmas or Christmas Eve table, check this out! Today, I am pleased to share Sunday Morning Coffee with you, a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun.

Season 4 Volume 44

About Me

You probably didn’t know I was a Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker Ballet.
Of course, I was ten years old.
And even though it was a neighborhood ballet troupe and not the real deal, I have loved the Nutcracker ballet ever since.

You can imagine how thrilled I was to create this unique Nutcracker table and room for The Home Depot.
Wouldn’t this be a fabulous idea for Christmas Eve or Christmas dinner?
Of course, you can create this inside your home if the weather is a bit chillier than here in Southern California!

I built the wooden box hanger that is the centerpiece of my table.
I also cut out Nutcracker snowflakes and placemats (using my Cricut)!

My Latest Project

I have been very busy this past week getting ready for our kids to come home.
But there was one family member that required me to do a lot of preparation for his arrival.
Can you guess who?
My grandson Graham!

Although Graham has traveled to Southern California many times, this will be an entirely different experience. He is walking and running and will likely get into everything.
So, I have been toddler-proofing our home, which is a huge project.
I invested in a long gate to section off the kitchen. This was an easier option than adding locks to every cabinet. I also bought age-appropriate toys, more books, sippy cups, and more,

My Biggest Challenge This Week

It’s been a tough week. I told my husband, Dave, that our one-hundred-year-old home had fallen apart.
Where do I start?
I might have mentioned that we are replacing our heat, air, and ducting. What was supposed to take a week now will take three weeks. I am fine with that because the company handling the project is amazing. But our house has been a mess.
The good news is that the AC guys found two leaks in the basement (way underneath our house), which we immediately fixed. The bad news is that the jostling of the pipes for the repair caused rust on one pipe to shift, exposing a leak in a main water drain pipe. This flooded the basement, where the AC guys have been working for two weeks. The plumbing repair will take five hours to fix and will happen this week. Another day without water!
We also replaced our twenty-four-year-old fridge in the basement with a new, more energy-efficient model. Getting the old refrigerator out of the basement was very difficult, and let’s say I might have thrown myself at the front door so the delivery guys couldn’t leave before the project was done.
Lastly, our car charger for Dave’s electric car is broken and remits a beep 24/7, which is just about ready to put me OVER THE EDGE.

Hi Barbara! Oh thank you so much- I really do, the best week ever 🎄🥰 so excited! Merry Christmas week to you and yours ♥️
Love the theme! Its been a tradition since my daughter was little that we have a mother/daughter date each year to see the Nutcracker Ballet. We are going this year the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Its been a couple of years since we’ve been able to go together because she moved to another state, but now I’m in the same state too so can’t wait to keep the tradition going. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
So beautiful. My granddaughter is a ballerina and has played in the Nutcracker many times. I have been wanting to do a Nutcracker Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration.
Wow, that’s amazing! Thanks for always being here Renae! ☺️
