The most common question I get asked is, “where did you get …?” I think I have figured out an even easier way to share my shopping tips with you!

I do a lot of shopping, both online and in person, and get so many questions about my resources. So today, I am putting it all together in one blog post that you can bookmark and come back to whenever you are looking for something you have seen on my blog!

I bought the wooden chest and marble bust at the Round Top Antique Fair which is perfect in our beach house. Can you see the marble bust wearing a swimsuit?

Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!

About Me

vintage cutting boards and wooden bowls at the Round Top Antique Fair.

Between remodeling the beach house and my recent shopping trip to Round Top, I have been doing a lot of shopping, both online and in person, and sharing a lot of newly acquired items.

The main living area in our beach house.

Did I mention that they know me by name when I walk into the Pottery Barn Outlet? I kind of feel like Norm, from Cheers, where everyone knows my name.

I am sharing my favorite shopping resources with links, as well as tips, so bookmark this page for future reference.

Here we go!

Antique Fairs

Antique fairs are a great place to find unique and one-of-a-kind pieces that can add character and charm to your home. These fairs are typically held in large event spaces and feature a variety of vendors selling antique and vintage items, including furniture, home decor, and accessories. While antique fairs can be overwhelming, there are a few tips to keep in mind to help you navigate them:

  • Do your research: Before attending an antique fair, research the vendors and items that will be available. This can help you prioritize which booths to visit and ensure that you don’t miss out on any must-have pieces.
  • Bring cash: While some vendors may accept credit cards, many prefer cash, so it’s a good idea to bring some with you. Additionally, bargaining is common at antique fairs, so having cash on hand can make negotiations easier.
  • Measure your space: It’s important to know the dimensions of the space you are decorating so that you can determine if a piece will fit before purchasing it.
  • Be patient: Finding the perfect piece at an antique fair can take time, so be patient and don’t rush the process.

I recently shared a new blog post, Your Ultimate Guide to Round Top Antique Fair, and you can find the link here if you missed it. This post shares everything you need to know about shopping at vintage antique shows and flea markets.

Vintage shopping is one of my favorite ways to shop and I love that every item has a story. The alabaster marble bust I recently acquired in Round Top is missing her head, which makes her story so intriguing and potentially scandalous.

There are so many vintage antique fairs/shows across the country. I have been to Round Top several times. I have also been to Brimfield. Brimfield is located in Massachusetts and was made famous back in the day when Martha Stewart talked about finding treasures while shopping in the Brimfield fields. And of course, there is the Rose Bowl Flea Market which is right in my backyard!

Online Shopping

Online shopping has revolutionized the way we shop for home decor, making it easier than ever to find unique pieces from all over the world. There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping online for home decor:

  • Check the return policy: When purchasing home decor online, it’s important to check the return policy in case the item doesn’t meet your expectations or doesn’t fit in your space.
  • Read reviews: Reading reviews from other customers can provide valuable insight into the quality and appearance of the item you are considering purchasing.
  • Pay attention to shipping costs: Shipping costs can vary widely depending on the size and weight of the item, so it’s important to factor this into the total cost of the item before making a purchase.

Some popular online retailers for home decor include Amazon, Wayfair, Anthropologie, Lamps Plus, Arhaus, Terrain, Pottery Barn, William Sonoma Home, Serena & Lily, and West Elm. These are just a few of my favorites.

Additionally, online marketplaces for vintage items like French Larkspur, Debra Hall Lifestyle, Elsie Green, Dreamy White Atelier, Etsy, and Chairish allow you to shop for vintage and antique pieces from the comfort of your own home.

Outlet/Discount Stores

One way to save money on home decor is to shop at outlet stores. These stores offer great deals on furniture, accessories, and other items for your home. Follow the online shopping guidelines above when shopping at outlet/discount stores.

As many of you know, I have spent a LOT of time at the Pottery Barn Outlet near me and have found some incredible deals. Here is a link to all of the Pottery Barn Outlet locations.

Some of my favorite discount stores include HomeGoods, IKEA, and Overstock.

If you are an Amazon Prime member, always check to see if Amazon has the item you are looking for so that you can get speedy and free delivery. You may be surprised by what you find on Amazon!

On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.

My Biggest Challenge This Week

Another cabinet from Round Top that looks great in the office at the beach house.

I have been so worried that the vintage purchases I found at Round Top wouldn’t fit in our beach house. Boy was I wrong! They look amazing.

So now I am struggling with wanting to clear out some of the stuff in our Pasadena home. I am so in love with the beach house style that I have decided I am going to put everything I don’t absolutely need in the Carriage house.

No more clutter and some of the farmhouse stuff needs to be recycled.

I have decided I am going to sell it all one day sale. This is going to be amazing because previously I have donated everything. But I have a lot of great stuff and I really want to sell it at a huge discount.

Stay tuned for more details.

French Larkspur is now carrying these amazing-smelling artisan soaps They are made using lots of olive oil so they are extra moisturizing, and naturally scented with pure lavender essential oil that Tracey procures from her favorite lavender distillery in Provence. Get yours before they sell out!

This past week was a busy one! We kicked off the week talking about my favorite flower, peonies. I updated our home with a spring palette, starting in the kitchen, and then the dining room, and finally, the living room. In between, I shared one of my favorite easy crafts for paper daffodils and another craft for copper foil eggs. What do you think about my spring palette? Did you try either of the crafts?

Gorgeous spring garden with colorful flowers and greenery. A shite wooden folding chair, a copper watering can and a clay bird house are tucked into the greenery.

I can’t wait to get out into my garden, how about you? Martha shared her Spring Garden Checklist to keep us all on track! Check it out here.

I have some last-minute spring and Easter ideas for you to try which include lemon plates and a terra cotta pot covered with napkins, and a stamped table runner. I am also making some very inexpensive cocktail napkins for the beach house and sharing an Easter table and my new blinds at the beach house.

  1. Hi Leslie
You posted a picture of your kitchen recently and I love the green colour on your walls. I have cream cabinets as well and struggling with finding a wall colour that does not make them look too yellow but still brighten the kitchen. Can I ask what colour you used? Thanks
