Carla, plant something fast growing. I don’t know where you live, but here in the South, we use crepe myrtles. Crepe myrtles love sun, and are fairly fast growing. The “Natchez” is white, and, at maturity, has beautiful cinnamon colored bark. I never, ever, trim my crepe myrtles – at least not in the fashion called “crepe-murder” by Southern Living garden editor, Steve Bender.
