The Wedding and Sunday Morning Coffee

|

How can I even begin to describe Michael and Ellie’s wedding? It was a celebration of their deep love for each other, and everything about the day reflected that.

From the unique ceremony to the heartfelt toasts, their wedding felt very personal and perfectly suited to them.

Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!

About Me

Michael and Ellie’s Wedding: A Celebration of Love

Michael and Ellie’s ceremony was unlike any I’ve ever seen before. There were no candles to light, no poems to be read—just Michael and Ellie, standing before their friends and family, sharing their love story in the most meaningful way possible: through their vows.

And these vows were not the typical short, formal recitations. Instead, they took the time to craft beautiful, heartfelt words that told the story of their relationship, revealing intimate moments and milestones that many of us had never heard before.

As they spoke, everyone watching the ceremony—myself included—learned much more about their bond. We heard about how they met, their adventures, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the countless tiny moments that have strengthened their connection.

It was clear that these vows were the heart of the wedding.

Every word felt intentional and honest, and they poured their love for each other into every sentence. Yes, their vows were longer than expected, but they were perfect. The ceremony, centered around their story, was exactly what it should have been—a reflection of Michael and Ellie’s unique relationship and the love they have built together.

After the beautiful ceremony, we moved into the dinner and celebration. The meal was fabulous, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter.

The weather added its special touch to the evening. Just as the toasts were getting underway, we experienced a few sprinkles of rain.

But far from dampening the mood, the light rain seemed to add to the day’s magic. In many cultures, rain on a wedding day is considered a sign of good luck, symbolizing a long and happy marriage.

I’d like to think those sprinkles were a blessing for Michael and Ellie as they begin this new chapter of their lives.

Graham made a short appearance at the wedding. Dave and I walked down the aisle with him, and Dave had planned to carry him. But last-minute plans didn’t go that way, and Graham decided he wanted Grandma Lala (me) to carry him. I wish I had photos, but I promise to share them when they are back from the photographer.

Looking back, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect wedding. It wasn’t about grand gestures or elaborate traditions—it was about two people sharing their story, surrounded by those who love them.

Every detail, from the vows to the toasts, felt personal and meaningful. Michael and Ellie’s wedding was a true celebration of love, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of it.

Get ready for sourdough!

Yesterday, I shared the story and tips for making a sourdough starter.

It was a fun journey, but the fun is just now beginning.

I made my first loaf and have many new ideas and recipes to share! Are you ready for pizza dough, muffins, rolls, and lots of beautiful sourdough bread?

I must admit that scoring the designs on top of the bread is my favorite! (Once an artist, always an artist!)

My Biggest Challenge This Week

Handmade metallic glass Christmas ornaments made with metallic paint and small pine needles and leaves.

It wasn’t until late last week that I was reminded that my Christmas holiday content starts on November 1st. Wait, what?

Did I mention we are going on a mini-vacation to Cabo from October 31 to November 4th? Of course, this means I have much to do in the next ten days.

Ho ho ho. Wish me luck.

Our white kitchen decorated with wreaths in the windows and on the back of the counter stools, red, green, and white trees, red and white towels, and more.

This week's to do list.
  • Continue creating holiday decor ideas and crafts.
  • Get ready to leave for Cabo.
  • Bake sourdough bread, muffins, and more.
