Prepping My Craft Room and Sunday Morning Coffee
It’s the middle of summer, and I should be talking about the beach. But right now, my creative mind is focused on my craft room!
For the first time, I will enjoy the term “Christmas in July.” Why? I will complete some unique holiday DIY crafts during July that I will share with you this fall. I will be busy in my craft room this entire summer. They are unique and new, and ideas you might want to try yourselves. Thanks for joining me today for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun.
Season 4 Volume 25
About Me
I do have the most incredible craft room ever. It took me forty years to get to this point, but I am ready to take on some big craft projects with my new Dream Box (and the forced organization that came with it).
For Christmas in July.
That said, I will be taking some projects on the road with me. We plan to spend much of our summer in Ventura, and I cannot wait to take over our kitchen table and craft!
Unless I can find a space for a craft room in Ventura. Hmmm.
Although I don’t think Christmas carols will be playing in the background. My husband likely wouldn’t be happy. Haha.
So why am I going to craft like crazy for Christmas in July?
It’s all about organization. A few months ago, I started dreaming of this idea and came up with theme ideas and projects. I have four general themes (they may not all make the final cut) and about five project ideas for each theme. Some are definite, and some need work, but I must add more ideas.
Then, I started ordering supplies. And my craft room is getting full.
This means I can start crafting for Christmas tomorrow! Happy almost July 1st.

My Latest Project
My to-do list is finished!
Ok, maybe that is a false statement because there are always things I want and need to do.
But, the list of things I needed to get done at the beach house is all crossed off.
And is there anything more satisfying than crossing items off of a list?
My brother and his wife are with us at the beach house this weekend, giving me an early deadline to finish everything.
This included fixing a smoke alarm, replacing a lock on a door, emptying four boxes, cleaning the BBQ and outdoor kitchen, assembling two new chairs for the deck, organizing five drawers, organizing our primary room closet, cleaning out the linen closet, changing out all of the beds, and more.
All that is left to do is move in all of my grandson Graham’s stuff (which is an alarming amount, by the way!) and get his room set up at the beach.

My Biggest Challenge This Week
The kids are coming. The kids are coming!
As I mentioned above, I have been working like crazy to prepare everything for the 4th of July week at the beach, and it’s been hectic! I have one more big task to complete, and then I am very excited that we can relax and enjoy the week with our family.
My last task is to plan all my menus, including dairy – and gluten-free options, and organize five days’ worth of meals.
I know it sounds like a lot, but I cannot wait. I promise I will share my recipes and lots of photos.
