My New Website and Blog!

I just finished a complete rebranding and redesign of my new website at My 100 Year Old Home. I am thrilled with the outcome and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Three years ago I started a new website and blog called My 100 Year Old Home. A friend of mine created it and I was so excited that had a blog on WordPress! Of course, I didn’t know how to even work WordPress then but, it was ok. I had a pretty blog.

Fast forward three years and yes, I know WordPress quite well. But my blog hasn’t grown with me. None of my categories made sense, it was impossible to find anything (such as recipes), and I had really outgrown my website and blog.

I was at the Alt Summit in Palm Springs and I met a gal named Gillian Sarah who designs websites. I liked her and looked at her Instagram and LOVED what I saw. I wanted my website to look like the ones she had designed!

So I hired Sarah. And it has been the most incredible experience. Gillian not only designed a beautiful website for me, but she guided me through the process of rebranding and reorganizing my 550+ blog posts. I also want to mention that Gillian has created theme templates too. You can find those here.

I loved working with Gillian to come up with categories for my blogs. I never imagined I could narrow it down to only five. But going through this process really helped my focus on my brand and helped me understand how much I have evolved in the last. three years.

My blog. categories are Entertaining, Decor, At Home, Crafts, and Recipes! You probably could have told me these categories should be. Let’s just say it took me a while.

So many of you have reached out over the past year asking about recipes, and paint colors, and photos of a room, and more. Of course, I would go to my website looking for an answer and even I couldn’t find it!

But that has finally changed.

There are five sections to my website: Home, Blog, About, Home Tour, Shop My Home, and Book Waco.

Home Tour

I set up tours of our homes that breakdown every room in our home and list all of the paint colors, info, and resources.

Here is the start of the Home Tour for My 100 Year Old Home in California.

We also added a Shop My Home section which has links to everything in every room!

I put together a video tour of my website below. I would love to know what you think!

  2. Wow! This is so beautiful! I love how you organized it and I love that you can see so many photos on each page of each category. I need to organize my blog!! This is fabulous! Also can I ask how do you get the mini video playing on the side of each page with your latest video playing. I love that feature that you have had on here as well. I will be perusing all your beautiful posts! 🙂
