Gift Wrapping and Sunday Morning Coffee

Do you love holiday gift wrapping? I love it. But I didn’t use to. My holiday wrapping used to involve locking myself in our bedroom for about six hours on Christmas Eve, wrapping and wrapping and wrapping.
Those days are behind me, and now I enjoy wrapping gifts and putting them out a bit earlier. And I am so happy to have those hours back on Christmas Eve!

Season 5 Volume 49
Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun.

About Me

Christmas is just a few days away, and we all need some wrapping ideas. I have a lot of great ideas to share with you today that make wrapping presents not only fun but also pretty!
My Favorite Room This Week

One reason I enjoy wrapping is that during the holidays, I always set up a gift-wrapping station. This way, I have all my paper, ribbon, and wrapping supplies in one place. As I purchase gifts, I wrap them in paper and ribbon, pop on a gift tag, and I am done.

I moved my craft room to the third floor last year after receiving my amazing Dreambox. The side table attaches to the dream box and works perfectly for wrapping. (And just so you know, my Dreambox inspired me to take another step with my crafting. Being organized, and seeing my most used crafting materials in front of me was a game changer.)
Just so you know, their big Christmas sale is happening now.
Once your wrapping area is set up, you only have to worry about what’s inside the package!
It’s important to know that you don’t need to spend much money on gift wrap supplies.
Shop the sales because wrapping paper is available at almost any store this time of year. Be careful and always check the width and length. I brought newly bought rolls of paper home, but I found they were much smaller than I thought!

I like buying butcher paper and making my own wrapping paper because it’s fun. For some fun gift-wrapping supplies, visit my Amazon gift-wrapping page.
My Latest Projects – DIY Gift Wrapping Paper
Making wrapping paper is one of my favorite parts of wrapping. I love coordinating all the papers so that all the gifts under the tree coordinate. You know me, I like everything to look pretty. I usually start by buying a few rolls of Amazon wrapping paper, then add to them by making my own.
Here are some of the wrapping papers I have made myself.

Wrapping Paper
When buying wrapping paper, I always look for a few reversible papers so that I have multiple coordinated options and heavy-weight papers that don’t tear when folded around the corners.
Below, I have curated some of my favorite papers using two different color themes.
I may sometimes use affiliate links on this blog, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.

.Gift Wrapping Ribbon

I own way too much ribbon. Over the years, I have collected a lot and stored it in many places. When I found this ribbon rack, it became my favorite way to store ribbons! This exact one isn’t available.
This ribbon rack is available. It’s less expensive and just as cute!
You can find more similar ones on Amazon too.
If you want to organize your ribbons, my post, How to Organize Ribbons in Your Craft Room, has many suggestions.

Gift-wrapping ribbons are essential to a beautifully wrapped gift. I hunt for ribbons all year long. You never know when or where you’ll find a unique, gorgeous ribbon.
I used to have a source for satin ribbons in every width and color in downtown Los Angeles, but they closed, and now I buy most of my ribbons online. Below, I share a few of my favorite ribbons I buy online.
Ok, maybe more than a few, hehe.
Gift Tags
I shared my very FUN tags earlier in the week. Here are some more traditional gift tags that are very easy to make.

I had some fun making these DIY Christmas gift tags. Each year, I create new designs and always keep a stash nearby. I also found some super cute ones online. Perhaps I have become a gift tag hoarder!

Gift Wrapping Station

A gift-wrapping station is essential for keeping yourself organized. If your house is anything like mine, scissors and tape seem to go missing all the time. I love how my Dreambox works so well as my gift wrapping area.

These gift-wrapping stations provide one place to keep together all of my gift-wrapping tools, gift-wrapping paper, ribbons, and gift tags, both handmade and ones I buy online.
Having this area gives me a better chance of keeping things like scissors and tape together in one place during the holiday season. When my family needs to wrap a gift, they know to go to my craft room, where they will find everything they need. Below are some items I purchased to set up my gift-wrapping station.
One of my favorite gift-wrapping tools is these Wrap Buddies. I bought them in 2020. They clip onto any table and hold your wrapping paper rolls and tape!
