My Favorite Summer Decor Finds and Sunday Morning Coffee

I have been decorating our home for summer, and I don’t remember having this much fun decorating with summer decor.
I love our home’s lighter and brighter feel and have spent days thinning stuff out to make it more comfortable! We are also celebrating the dads in our family, and I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day! Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, and dream.

Season 5 Volume 24

About Me

Decorating our home for summer is so much fun. There are so many reasonably priced and awesome summer decor items, and I love them. Today, I am sharing my favorites with you!
The Beach House Summer Decor Finds

Remodeling our beach house was one of my favorite projects, and adding the decor was the icing on the cake. My style is Modern Coastal Vintage (I made up that term), and I love it. Here are some of my favorite purchases for the beach house.
I may sometimes use affiliate links on this blog, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.
Our Living Room Summer Decor Finds

Our living room feels so different because I lightened everything in it! I restyled the bookcases and removed the dark items (and books). The two new swivel chairs are perfect for reading. The Frame TV has been a great addition; as expected, we enjoy our living room much more.
It’s not new. It’s just refreshed, but it feels like new!
Our Family Room Summer Decor Finds

Our family room feels brighter, and the pop of orange has warmed it up for summer. I love my amber water glasses, which are the perfect color and size. I am sure you will see many of them on the tables, and I will be styling them for the rest of the year!

My Latest Project

Celebrating the Incredible Fathers in My Life
It’s Father’s Day, and I am celebrating the fathers in my life today.
The dads in our family are Dave and Andrew. And Michael will become a dad this fall.
This week, I have been reflecting on the incredible men in my life who wear the title “Dad” so beautifully. It’s hard to say how lucky we are, but I will try.

Let’s start with my husband, Dave. From the moment we became parents, he has been the kind of father every child dreams of having: patient, steady, kind, and strong.
Through the years, he has guided our three boys with quiet wisdom, unwavering support, and a sense of humor that lightens every room. Whether coaching baseball games or giving pep talks that stick with you forever, Dave has always shown up with his whole heart. He never sought the spotlight, but he has always been the foundation of our family.

And watching him now as a grandfather (Papa), it’s just the sweetest thing. He lights up around Graham, and their bond is already so special. Seeing Dave with our daughters-in-law, treating them with love and care as if they’ve always been part of our family, reminds me daily how lucky we all are to call him ours.

And then there’s our son Andrew. Watching your child become a parent is a profound experience. Andrew is such a natural father to his son Graham. He is attentive, playful, gentle, and strong, all of which make him a wonderful son, and he now shines through in his role as a dad. And an amazing husband for Charlotte.

He is hands-on, always present, and completely smitten with his little boy. It’s a joy to watch them together, and it fills me with so much pride to see how he’s carrying on the legacy of love and intentional parenting he grew up with.
As if that wasn’t enough to make my heart burst, our son Michael is about to begin his fatherhood journey this fall. The anticipation and excitement we all feel for Michael and Ellie is hard to describe.

Michael will be a fantastic dad. He has a kind heart, a grounded perspective, and a strong sense of family.

He’s already so thoughtful as an uncle to Graham and ready to embrace everything that comes with parenthood. I can’t wait to see him step into this new chapter and to watch his daughter discover what a wonderful man their father is.
These men, Dave, Andrew, and Michael (and someday Matt!), are why I feel so blessed this Father’s Day. They prove that love, patience, and presence make all the difference. Watching them nurture and lead their families is one of my greatest joys.
So today, and every day, I celebrate them: the dads who lead with love, the grandpas who play and snuggle, and the sons who become fathers. I am so proud of the family we’ve built together and grateful beyond words to share this journey with them.

My Biggest Challenge This Week

I have been discussing designing a dress for myself. But first, I want to make one and use a pattern. My dress size has gotten smaller (yippee!), so the fitting will be crucial.
My only challenge is where to find the fabric.
JoAnn Fabrics closed all of their stores this past year, and they were my go-to fabric store. Since my need is short-term, I will head to the garment district in downtown Los Angeles and check out the block of fabric stores (at Maple and 9th Street).
Long term, there might be a solution. I am sure many of you saw the announcement that Michael’s stores bought the rights to the fabric line previously owned by JoAnn, so they will now be adding fabric (and yarn) to their stores. The online chatter has been mixed, but I am thrilled. The convenience of having a craft/fabric store ten minutes away is great.
