Today I am sharing how to wrap a gift with homemade wrapping paper and bows. I also decided to try a new color palette because I love pink!
I have a confession to make. I use to wrap all of my gifts on Christmas Eve. I think I was so busy with baking for our party that I didn’t have time. The end result was that my gifts didn’t look all that great. In fact, you would have thought that I had no clue how to wrap a gift for the holidays.
Fast forward three years (which are what I call “AB” for After Blogging Years) and now I am making my own wrapping paper. Today I am sharing how I wrap a gift for the holidays with my homemade wrapping paper. I have also joined some other very talented bloggers who are sharing their beautiful and simple gift wrapping inspirations too! How to Make Homemade Wrapping Paper
I have been making snowflake cookies so I decided to make snowflake wrapping paper. And why not try something different and use pink? At least this way, I don’t have to worry that my boys will try to use this paper!
There are a lot of ways you can make your snowflake stencil. You can use a styrofoam plate and make them as I did in this blog post. Or you can use a rubber stamp. I decided to make my own stamps with my Cricut machine. I found these snowflakes at www.design.cricut.com. Just head to the link and search for “snowflakes”.
This is my snowflake design and you can find it here.
I decided to consolidate and only make two stencils. So these are the two snowflakes I used.

I used thin foam sheets and cut them out on my machine. I used the deep cut blade and a setting for leather!
Next, I added some light pink paint to a paper plate and stenciled my snowflakes on to some craft paper.
To add more design, I used a cookie cutter for a thin snowflake pattern. I love how it looks on the paper!
I wanted a simple and free-flowing style and this is how it came out. This was so easy to make!
How to Make Bows for Gifts
I have so much ribbon and no bows! But that’s fine because I make them all.
It’s so easy to make your own bows. Just make a fan of the ribbon by layering it as seen in the photo below.
Cut a notch on each side of the center.
Then tie a piece of ribbon around the notches and secure tightly.
Pull the ribbon loops apart.
Aren’t these pretty?
