It’s Day Eight of The Twelve Days to Get Ready for Christmas and I am featuring some of my favorite handmade holiday gifts. I have so many fun ideas to share during the season of giving.
Nine Handmade with Love DIY Gift Ideas
When it comes to handmade gifts, you can never go wrong. Handmade gifts turn something you love into something that somebody else will love too.
I have given many gifts that have been handmade with love over the years. Today, I am sharing some of my favorites that will hopefully inspire you to make some handmade gifts this year.
I picked nine of my favorite handmade crafts and gifts that I think would make great gifts. I also included some ready-made gifts at the bottom of this post just in case you need a simpler solution!
Handmade Table Runner
I found this table runner online and it was perfect for my DIY. It had a ruffle on it and was very inexpensive, so all I did was stamp it and paint it. This would make the best gift! And you can make a holiday themed one too.
On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you make a purchase via the link. The price you pay will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.
Handmade Christmas Tree Skirt
Last year I saw a wool felt Christmas tree skirt on the Magnolia website and I thought it might be fun to make one myself!
So I found all of the supplies and made this adorable felt pom pom Christmas tree skirt.
Handmade Snowflake Pom Pom Pillow
Pom poms are such a fun crafting item and I loved making this DIY Christmas pillow. I saw a similar one a few years ago at Anthropologie (or maybe Pottery Barn) and I have known ever since that I wanted to make one. I tried it and I absolutely love the end result.
Handmade Christmas Kitchen Towels with Glue Gun Stencil
I love my kitchen when it is decorated for the holidays. The white cabinets and green walls (which have been this way for over twenty years!) look so great with red and green Christmas decor. Today I am sharing some Christmas kitchen towels that I made with … are you ready … a stencil made with a glue gun!
Handmade Button Wreath Pillow
I challenged myself to make a few Christmas crafts using items I already had at home. Since I already own a lot of buttons, including these vintage white ones, I made this pillow with a glue gun, ribbon, and buttons.

Handmade Napkin Rings
The holidays are all about spending time with family and friends so why not make the most out of it? Make your home festive by creating these easy and festive napkin rings to keep your table feeling warm and inviting.
Handmade Vintage Sewn Ornament Pillow
I saw a heart pillow by Anthropologie (which was priced at almost $200) and I immediately knew I needed to make one. But I wanted to make a Christmas pillow with ornaments, not hearts!
Handmade Finger Knitted Pom Pom Blanket
I am really excited to share with you an awesome handmade with love DIY gift. I made this amazing “finger-knitted” blanket in one day and it is the best.
Handmade Wood Cake Stand
Isn’t this wooden cake stand amazing? It was so much fun to make and I love how it turned out. The color is just magical. I can use it year-round, especially at Christmas!
Vintage Ornament Christmas Pillow
I made this painted and stitched pillow featuring some of the vintage ornaments I have collected. This is such a perfect gift!
Amazon Handmade
If you are not crafty or this season you have no time to make handmade gifts, you can still give a gift that has been handmade. In case you don’t already know, Amazon has an area on its website called Homemade. There are artisans from over 80 countries around the world creating and selling their handcrafted goods on Amazon Handmade. I am sharing some of my favorites below from Amazon Handmade.

They’re all wonderful Leslie – you are so creative – I really want to try that napkin ring! And so fun that you and KariAnne are doing this series together. Thanks as always, and Happy Monday!
Thanks so much Barbara!
I was particularly intrigued by the glue gun stencil! I will be trying that later today. I wanted to make a suggestion, though. If you want to make a word, reverse your graphic before you trace it, so when you use the flat side, the orientation is correct. I love your videos and blog and subscribe to your newsletter. I’d love to see your Facebook posts live, but always seem to tune in a bit too late.
I love your wooden bowl on the pedestal where did you get that please. I just love your house and the way you decorate it all.
I just love your house and the way you decorate it all. And all your decor is perfect…I tey and think my house is like yours and it’s not but I try to make it like it the best I can…
Thank for your ideas!
Love all your ideas… my cart is full of your suggestions!
I love these ideas. My Amazon cart is full. Hugs to you.
Yay! That’s the best Renae, big hugs 🤗
Honestly, not sure how you could pick only 9. Over the course of the year, you have had ‘many’ handmade gifts and all really well done and I really don’t know how you can do this. Thank you for sharing and I am enjoying your ‘series’.
Good luck and enjoy your book signing tomorrow.
Oh my goodness Janice thank you so much! This type of feedback is so encouraging and just makes me want to put out more and more. Ah yes, can’t wait! 🤗❤️
I remember seeing the pillow with the white buttons previously on your posts. Now I’m going to make it.
You are an inspiration.
Thank you
Oh thank you for the kind words Nancy! That’s awesome- let me know how it goes 🙏☺️
