Happy Spring and Sunday Morning Coffee
Happy Spring! I am inspired to add my spring color palette to our home and for the weather to begin to warm. How about you?
For the first time, I am beginning to understand how exciting and hopeful the prospect of spring is. In Southern California, we are not accustomed to cold, damp weather for weeks and weeks on end. We have had torrential rains and I am now understanding all of the hype and excitement for spring! I am ready, to warm up, get out to the beach, and see the sun!
Season 3 Volume 13
Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!
About Me
I am so happy! My purchases from my trip to the Round Top Antique Fair were delivered today and I love them!
I went to the show thinking that I might never find anything that would fit with our beach house decor and I was so wrong.
I bought quite a few things, including three cabinets, and everything looks amazing.
The cabinet and marble bust were two of my favorite purchases. They fit here and look amazing. And the bust is actually wearing a swimsuit which is perfect for a house at the beach.
My Latest Project, My Spring Color Palette
Spring has Arrived in Our South Pasadena Home
Even though it has been so gray and rainy, I am in a happy spring mood! I introduced my spring color palette in our family room in a blog post yesterday. Did you get a chance to see it? If not, here is the link.
I was inspired by the lavender fields we visited during our trip to Provence last summer. Lavender is a soft and soothing color that is associated with relaxation and serenity and when paired with sage green, lavender takes on a more subdued and natural quality, making it a great choice for spring.
Using lavender in my home is new for me; I have to admit, I am on the fence about it. I think I love it, but I’m not sure. What do you all think?

My Biggest Challenge This Week
I arrived home from Texas very late on Sunday night (actually it was well into Monday morning) and immediately started focusing on our beach house remodel.
As is usually the case with the remodel, the final weeks are just crazy.
There are so many items to juggle and every time I cross off something on my list, three more items get added.
I came up to the beach house on Monday night, spent the day on Tuesday with the electrician, plumber, and low voltage expert, drove home, and then came back on Thursday to get the house ready for a girl’s weekend!
It took about eight hours, but I went through every room and cleaned and organized, and added a few items that I knew would make every guest more comfortable.
I also was thrilled that we were able to get the outdoor kitchen installed and the deck is looking amazing.
As you can imagine, I am juggling a lot right now and it’s a challenge but I am loving every minute of it. Besides, it’s already a happy spring!

As you all know, I am a HUGE sports fan and I cannot wait to see this new film Air which received a rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes! The movie is inspired by the true events, the rise of Nike, and the making of a legend, Michael Jordan.

I love anything lemon and I found this incredible recipe from NYT for lemon pudding. What a perfect spring dessert! Give it a try!
We had an amazing week last week starting with one of my favorite things, vintage crocks. In honor of the first day of Spring, we shared about outside dining favorites then I shared ALL of the details on my latest trip to Round Top Antiques Fair. I also created a pretty spring wreath, discussed some great ideas for kitchen islands, and finally shared my spring color palette in our family room. Happy Spring everyone!

Since I accidentally posted Sunday’s post on Saturday I will post the Lavendar post (which was supposed to be today) tomorrow. That’s what I get for having so much fun with my girlfriends … I can;t even remember what day it is!
I’m glad to see this, I couldn’t figure out how I missed the spring color post!!😍
Just was one of those weekends! 😆🙌🏻
Did you mean to send this on Saturday? I also didn’t receive the lavender post.
Ok, I am having so much fun celebrating a girl’s weekend at the beach house that I thought today was Sunday. So last night when I scheduled this post, I scheduled this one. I have been laughing all morning. So tomorrow I will post the lavender post. Oh my …

Hi Kim! Thanks so very much! It was such a wonderful time, I just love Round Top 🥰 oh I’m so very glad that you do, thank you for being here. Have a fabulous week!
The lavender is such a happy spring color, and it is nice to see someone using something other than green for spring! Have a fun girl’s weekend and enjoy the sunshine we finally have in Ventura.
I totally agree! 💜 We had so much fun and yes! Soaking up the sunshine before more rain!
Leslie, I’m so glad you’re having a fun girls weekend at the beach house. I love the chest and bust where you put them – perfect for the decor and style. I’m interested to see where you put all the other item you bought at Round Top. As for the lavender post, I’m looking forward to reading it tomorrow but I’ll tell you right now that I like lavender and green together and what I’ve seen of your decor thus far. I’m not a lavender person either but it does look so springlike. Enjoy your weekend at your beautiful “new” house!
Hi Susan! We really did have a great time ☺️ I can’t wait to share it all with you. Have a great week!
I got the lavender blog not the day before one.
