An Amazing Summer and Sunday Morning Coffee

This summer has been one of the most memorable and joy-filled seasons I can remember, and it’s all because of one thing: family.

As the weeks flew by, I found myself looking back at everything we did together and feeling so grateful for the time we shared. From golf tournaments to beach days in Ventura, from our trip to Hawaii to Michael and Ellie’s beautiful baby shower, every moment was a reminder of how special it is to spend time with the people we love most. What an amazing summer!

About Me

An Amazing Summer Filled With Family

Golf Tournaments and Family Fun

Four men in blue blazers and light pants stand on a golf course, smiling and holding drinks on a sunny day.

One of the things I love about summer is how much time we get to spend outdoors, and this year was no exception. We spent many days at golf tournaments, cheering, laughing, and sometimes even playing a little ourselves. The Big Craven’s Golf Tournament at San Gariel CC offered the chance for Dave and our three sons to team up and compete.

It’s incredible how something as simple as being together on the course can bring so much joy. Golf has always been a family favorite, and this summer it gave us even more opportunities to connect, share stories, and make new memories.

Ventura Beach Days

A woman in a light sweatshirt holds a small child wearing a fluffy robe, standing in a bright living room with a window and a lamp in the background.

Our time in Ventura at the beach house was another highlight of the season. The beach and the ocean instantly relax me, and this summer we were lucky enough to spend plenty of days by the water. Long walks on the beach, evenings on the porch, and plenty of time together as a family made Ventura feel like the perfect escape.

Three men and a child stand on a sandy beach near the ocean, with one man holding a volleyball and another holding the child. It is a sunny day with waves in the background.

Our family was at the beach house for the 4th of July and also this past week. Watching the waves crash while surrounded by my kids was a reminder that some of the best moments in life are the simplest.

A Dream Trip to Hawaii

A group of nine people, including a child, stand together and smile for a photo outdoors on a patio with greenery and palm trees in the background.

Of course, Hawaii was another unforgettable part of our summer. Traveling as a family is always an adventure, and Hawaii gave us endless opportunities to soak in the beauty around us. From the beaches to the sunsets to the laughter we shared along the way, it was everything I could have hoped for.

There’s nothing quite like slowing down, exploring together, and being reminded how wonderful it is to see the world with the people you love most.

Looking Back with Gratitude

As summer winds down, I can honestly say this has been one of the best I can remember, not because of any one trip or event, but because of how much time we spent together.

Every golf game, beach walk, and family gathering reminded me of what really matters. I’m so thankful for the memories we made and excited to carry that joy into the fall and the busy season ahead.

Celebrating Ellie’s Baby Shower

Just last week, we capped off the summer with one of the most meaningful moments of all: Ellie’s baby shower. Gathering our family and friends to celebrate her and the baby was such a joyful day. The decorations, the laughter, and the love in the room made it unforgettable. I couldn’t stop smiling knowing we’ll be welcoming our granddaughter soon.

I loved creating everything for this shower, and the table, desserts, and decor were very pink and orange!

Next week, I promise to share everything!

My Biggest Challenge This Week

A woman stands on a walkway in front of a house, holding the handle of a rolling suitcase with a duffel bag beside her on the grass, ready to begin her summer travel adventure.

I am in Northern California doing what I love the most – babysitting my grandson! I am savoring every moment because as soon as I leave here, we are hitting the road.

Which is a bit chaotic. But please know, I love it too.

First, we head to Montana for a wedding, then Dave takes off for a golf trip to Pinehurst, and finally, we head to Portugal for a bike trip!

Then we have two family weddings in Southern California and Georgia.

And we head home just in time for the craziness of the holiday! Oh my.

This week's to do list.
  • Finish my costume for the Western Glitter party in Montana. Yikes! (More about this later!)
  • Finish fall clay projects in my home pottery studio.
  • Plan out all of my holiday clay gift projects.
  • Pack for Montana.
