The Best Summer Decor Finds and Sunday Morning Coffee

I have been decorating our home for summer, and I don’t remember having this much fun decorating with summer decor.

I love our home’s lighter, brighter feel and have spent days thinning things out to make it more comfortable! We are also celebrating the dads in our family, and I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day! Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, and dream.

About Me

A newly refreshed living room with light couches, furniture, and accents.

Decorating our home for summer is so much fun. There are so many reasonably priced and awesome summer decor items, and I love them. Today, I am sharing my favorites with you!

The Beach House Summer Decor Finds

Bright, modern living room with a white sofa facing a fireplace, large screen tv, and a view through a glass door. decor includes a spiral wall art and an abstract painting.

Remodeling our beach house was one of my favorite projects, and adding the decor was the icing on the cake. My style is Modern Coastal Vintage (I made up that term), and I love it. Here are some of my favorite purchases for the beach house.

I may sometimes use affiliate links on this blog, which means I earn a small commission if you make a purchase through one of them. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.

Our Living Room Summer Decor Finds

Our living room feels so different because I lightened everything in it! I restyled the bookcases and removed the dark items (and books). The two new swivel chairs are perfect for reading. The Frame TV has been a great addition; as expected, we enjoy our living room much more.

It’s not new. It’s just refreshed, but it feels like new!

Our Family Room Summer Decor Finds

A bright, elegant living and dining room with a set table in the foreground, white sofa, armchairs, large windows, and soft natural light.

Our family room feels brighter, and the pop of orange has warmed it up for summer. I love my amber water glasses, which are the perfect color and size. I am sure you will see many of them on the tables, and I will be styling them for the rest of the year!

My Latest Project

My Latest Project

A beige canvas tote bag hangs on a white staircase railing, featuring a World Cup 2026 logo with various national flags.

Our family is having so much fun watching the World Cup and cheering on Team USA. All of my boys bought their USA jerseys early on, so I decided Ellie and I needed something to wear too. Of course, instead of buying something, I headed straight to my craft room.

Two women and a baby stand in front of a TV showing a sports broadcast. The women wear matching white shirts with a red, white, and blue heart design.

I used my Brother Dream Machine to make these darling USA jersey t-shirts, and I love how they turned out. I found the USA Soccer Shirt Embroidery Design, America Team US Sport Cup 2026 Machine Embroidery File on Etsy and stitched it on simple white T-shirts. They are festive without being too much, which is exactly what I wanted.

There is something so fun about making things that match what our family is excited about right now. Whether we are watching from the couch, texting during games, or cheering together, the World Cup has become such a fun part of our summer. And now Ellie and I have something cute to wear while we cheer on Team USA!

A soccer ball with various national flags and text "world cup 2026" embroidered on a beige fabric background.

I also made the cutest canvas tote bag with a World Cup 2026 Embroidery Design, Flag Soccer Ball Embroidery File, Football Patch Design featuring flags from so many countries. The tote is from Amazon and I found the embroidery design on Etsy, and it was such an easy and fun project. I love that it celebrates the whole tournament, not just one team.

What Worked This Week

A woman with short blonde hair, wearing a light pink striped shirt, stands indoors holding a large pink patterned bag with "LESLIE" embroidered on it.

This week I completely fell down a creative rabbit hole, and I have absolutely no regrets. I made my first quilted bandana tote bag for my A Handmade Summer series, and let’s just say I am obsessed. You know that feeling when you finish a project and immediately start planning the next five? That was me.

A pink tote bag with a paisley bandana pattern and the name "LESLIE" stitched on the front sits in front of a blue bag with a similar pattern.

I had seen these bags everywhere, including a popular version selling for hundreds of dollars, and I couldn’t wait to see if I could make my own. Not only did it work, but I honestly love the finished bags even more because I chose my own colors, quilted them myself, and customized every detail. They have that relaxed, summery, vintage look that makes me smile every time I pick one up.

A blue bandana-patterned tote bag with the name "ELLIE" embroidered on the front hangs on a silver door knob.

The funniest part is that I thought I was making one bag for the blog. Instead, I kept making more because I couldn’t stop. So now I’m seriously thinking about making a limited collection of twenty bags to sell. Even more fun, I could personalize them with a name, monogram, or even custom embroidery to make each one unique.

I have no idea if this is a crazy idea or a really good one, so tell me what you think. Should I make twenty of these and offer them for sale? I have a feeling this could be a really fun summer project!

This week's to do list.
  • Cut out 10 bandana bags.
  • Clean out craft room to make room for two new machines!
  • Make a gift for hosts in Sun Valley.

A bowl of salad with shredded chicken, black beans, corn, avocado, tomato, lettuce, tortilla chips, cheese, jalapeños, and cilantro, next to a small cup of dressing and a fork.

This Chicken Taco Salad looks so delicious!

A cozy living room with two leather armchairs, a blue-striped ottoman, a potted plant, a rustic blue dresser, and wall-mounted antler decor.
