Easy Christmas Button Crafts
Today, I am sharing some easy Christmas button crafts. Buttons are a great crafting item and these crafts are inexpensive and so easy to make!
Today is day five of Twelve Days of Getting Ready for Christmas and I hope you enjoy these easy DIY Christmas crafts.
Each year, I challenge myself to make a few Christmas crafts using craft items I already have at home. After spending time in my third-floor craft room, I discovered I could make many Christmas button crafts!
I have collected buttons for a long time. I have found many vintage buttons at flea markets, fabric stores, and online.
I own many more buttons than I realized, and I have many colors and sizes of new and vintage buttons. Of course, they weren’t well organized, so it took me longer to find all my buttons than it did to make the crafts!
As always, I challenged myself to make items that looked store-bought (but weren’t). Many fast, easy, and fun Christmas button crafts exist!
Here are three button crafts you can make for Christmas.
Wreath Pillow with Vintage Buttons
I loved making this pillow using vintage buttons. I created a wreath design with buttons and finished it with a pretty green satin bow.

I love to buy vintage buttons and occasionally buy them at the flea market. (These buttons cost $3 each, including the jar!)
And I will be honest: This pillow is easy to make. All I did was glue buttons onto a pillow cover to look like a wreath, and then I added a bow.
Seriously!
Of course, you can also sew the buttons on. I didn’t have much time, so the glue gun was easier.
This pillow was so easy to make. I used a pillow cover, vintage buttons, ribbon, and a glue gun.
Button Garland
Next, I made a button garland. I have these vintage windows hanging in our family room, and I like dressing them up every season.
I added a wreath to the windows and thought some garland swags might be nice.
So I pulled out some buttons and some twine and made these garlands.
They are simple and easy to make, and I love them. Thread some twine on a needle and thread it through the button. Tie a knot behind each button to hold it in place. Continue threading the buttons on the twine.
They would look great on a mantle and a Christmas tree, too.
Do you think I should have made a green garland too?
Button Christmas Tree
How cute is this button Christmas tree? I had a bunch of buttons in my craft room, so I used some pearl straight pins and stuck them into a styrofoam cone.
As you can see in the photo below, I randomly placed the buttons on the cone.
Here are some of the hundreds of buttons I own. It’s funny, as my only colors are white, black, red, green, and pink.
These Christmas button crafts are easy and can be made with your children or grandchildren. How much fun is that?

Oh that’s amazing! Love to hear that ♥️🥰
Maybe a green button garland would look nice, but you don’t want to overdo it.
