Welcome to Around the House at My 100 Year Old Home. This is new a weekly update I share every Saturday about what is going on at My 100 Year Old Home.
Welcome Inside My 100 Year Old Home
It’s been such a busy week and I feel like lots of projects are finally winding down. I also did a lot of Valentine’s Day Crafts. That makes me so happy.
By far the most exciting thing that happened this week was that our home in Waco officially listed on Airbnb. To clarify, listing a home on Airbnb is the easy part. Getting the city permit is a lot harder. Our home is on a double lot (which is awesome) and at the last minute we had to go through a few hurdles to “tie the lots together”. And I mean legally, not figuratively. If it sounds crazy, it is. I am just so glad my husband is in commercial real estate so he could attempt to explain it to me.
My dream for our Waco Airbnb is to create a vacation home where our home feels like yours. I have poured my heart into this home and I love everything about it.
It is finally happening. Today is the official day that our home is available to reserve on Airbnb. At 8:00am PST today you can click on the menu at the top of this page that says BOOK WACO AIRBNB. Follow the link to make a reservation. It’s that simple.
I thought it might be fun to take you on a tour of our Waco Airbnb rental. It’s a one hundred year old home that has been completely redone. Every single thing was redone. Fortunately, we were able to use the original wood floors, the wood ceilings, and the shiplap. There are lots of “before” photos on my blog if you want to see what it used to look like.
I absolutely love the farmhouse sink and faucet I found for our Fixer upper home in Waco.
Note: This blog post was created in partnership with Elkay.
Many months ago when I was designing our kitchen for the Waco home, I knew I wanted two things. These two items were a vintage island and a large white farmhouse sink. As you can see from the photo above, I got exactly what I wanted.
I love the bedding and towels we Bought at The Home Depot for the Waco Airbnb. They are soft, plush and look great after lots of laundering!
I just went through what I would call a “very interesting shopping experience”. Normally shopping for bedding and bath towels can be a difficult task. Imagine what it is like when you need to order thirty sets of towels and twenty sets of sheets for one home.
I absolutely love our Waco home decorated for the holidays. I hope you love these Christmas decorating ideas as much as I do.

Before I left Waco last week, I was able to decorate our Waco Airbnb for the holidays. I am so thankful that I found all of these items at the local JOANN store in Waco. JOANN has the best Christmas wreaths and floral decor this year and I found so many great items to decorate our entire home! All of the items are from the JOANN Handmade Holiday collection which I absolutely love.
