Decorating the Waco Kitchen for Christmas

I am thrilled to share with you our plans for decorating the Waco kitchen for Christmas. It was a bit of a challenge but I love it.

I am so excited to share the recently added holiday decor in our Waco Airbnb. You know how much I love decorating the Waco kitchen for Christmas and this year I did it from 1500 miles away!

I wasn’t able to travel to Waco this season so I enlisted help from my house manager Kelly, and together (via my phone and facetime) we decorated the house and kitchen. Since the kitchen is mostly white, it is easy to add some red and green to the kitchen and get a nice pop of color.

The wreaths are from JOANN. I bought them last year and knew I wanted to use them again. I also have them in our home here in California. That’s how much I love them!

The entire left side of our Waco Airbnb is open from the front to the back of the house. It starts with the living room, then moves into the dining room, and then ends in the kitchen (which is along the backside of our home). It’s quite spacious and I love it.

There are so many things I love about this kitchen that I don’t even know where to begin. We partnered with a lot of brands for the remodel and this kitchen wouldn’t have been possible without their help.

Semihandmade – kitchen cabinet fronts with IKEA bases.

Zline Appliances – Range, range hood, and dishwasher

Bed, Bath & Beyond – All of the furnishings and small appliances for the kitchen.

Hanstone Quartz – Countertops

Hudson Valley Lighting – Hanging pendants over the island

Elkay – Farmhouse kitchen sink and faucet

Ruggable – Kitchen rug (it’s washable)

I bought the kitchen island (and pantry cabinet) at the Round Top Antique Fair. The island is the original paint color but I did replace the top with a standard butcher block piece I found at a hardware store.

Paint color- Benjamin Moore Simply White

I love the location and proximity of the kitchen and dining room. It’s the perfect set up for entertaining and family dinners.

Everything we used for decorating the Waco kitchen for Christmas is from JOANN. The decor is simple because our home is an Airbnb and it can’t be too cluttered!

If you are curious, the floors and ceilings are original to the house. We did add on to the back but I was fortunate to find more vintage flooring and ceiling floorboards that matched what we already had!

We added the shiplap which was just plain wood boards with lots of knots and flaws. That makes the best and most authentic flooring!

I love the island so much. As I mentioned, I bought it at the Round Top Vintage Antiques Fair and the color is so unique. Depending on the light it looks either grey, aqua, or sage green!

I love the upper shelving in the kitchen. The green vintage bottles add some holiday flair and the open shelving works perfectly for an Airbnb.

I hope you can tell how much fun we had decorating the kitchen for Christmas. Isn’t it good to know you can decorate your home even when you are fifteen hundred miles away?

Oh my. What a year it has been.

  1. Hi Bobbi Jo,

Thank you so much for sharing your home. It is beautiful. I wanted to ask you a question about the wood top on the island. I like that it looks natural and was wondering what do you put on top of it to protect is from stains?

If you could let me know , I would appreciate it. Wishing you Christmas Blessings.

  5. Wow, this kitchen is soooo beautiful! We are looking to remodel our outdated kitchen in the next few months. We are just debating on a few things, like if we need a dumpster rental, what style of kitchen we would like, and what colors, etc. This post is inspirational and we will be using some of these ideas!
