My Top Ten DIY Projects in 2020

My nephew made a dartboard like this and I knew I wanted to make one. You need to know that we did not drink all of the wine but we certainly contributed a lot of corks to this fun project.

I loved that so many of you sent me photos of the dartboards you made after seeing this. The dartboard takes time but the end result is so worth it!

This DIY takes about fifteen minutes to complete. I made these for the holidays and I can tell you that these were by far the most popular cocktail glasses in our home over the holidays.

The best news is that they came out of the dishwasher looking perfect!

The wood wall in this room makes such a big impact. I love how easy it was to use Stikwood wood planks and how easy the project was!

I had so much fun setting up this sports viewing room in the middle of our back year.

To create the ambiance, I set up a wooden frame, hung a chandelier from the top board, and built a small plank tabletop to go on top of our outdoor coffee table.

This project was so much fun! (And I need to brag that I also figured out how to set up a TV in the middle of our backyard.)

I had a crazy idea to make a copper leaf wreath but I just needed to figure out how to cut the leaves.

Fortunately, my Cricut Maker machine was the perfect tool to use to cut and deboss the leaves.

This was one of my favorite posts of the year. I especially love the wooden table centerpiece I made.

It has a trough that holds flowers or ornaments or candles along the bottom. It also has tall side posts that have a suspended rope that can hold hanging candles.

I moved this wooden centerpiece into our dining room last week and set a table for Christmas. We used it on our dining room table for our Christmas Eve and Christmas night dinners. It was magical.

I love this so much.

I came up with an idea to make a big piece of wood that fit on top of a plastic table. I love it so much that I have no made three and I just decided that the last one I made is going to get painted with white paint.

They are really fun to make.

I love making these trees and they look so march harder to make than they are.

They are made with pipe cleaners and soaked in Borax to add the crystals. Aren't they just magical?

I loved making these tomato cages and as I explained yesterday, my two sons hijacked my project!

Of course, they were made in record time and probably came out better than if I had made them myself.

I told the boys this morning how popular this blog post was in 2020 and they both responded independently, "how come it's not number one?".

No surprise.

I discovered a new crafting technique this year and I am obsessed. It is called Free Motion Stich Embroidery and it is done with a regular sewing machine and a darning foot.

I made a lot of items using Free Stitch Embroidery and every single blog post was really very popular. It doesn't surprise me at all that this was my number one DIY project of the year.

I do suggest that you seriously consider giving this a try. IT is so much fun and the less perfect you sew, the better it looks. I promise!
