Let’s Tour Our Home for the Holidays
Today I thought it would be nice to share a tour of our home for the holidays. With all of the time I have spent decorating, it’s nice to see it all come together.
I decided to share all of the rooms on the first floor of our home. They are decorated and yet very comfortable. It’s a good thing I did it today because now that the boys are home for the holidays it will probably never look this nice again!
Our Holiday House Tour
The Kitchen
There is no doubt that our kitchen is my favorite room in our home. Not only do I spend a lot of time here, but I love the creating and joy I get cooking here.
We remodeled our kitchen twenty years ago and I am so thankful that I had the hindsight to go with white cabinets and countertops. At the time of our remodel, most of my friends were putting in dark cabinets with green granite countertops.
I love white kitchens. In fact, I am not sure I could do anything other than a white kitchen. Is that crazy?
I just love how the Christmas decor looks in our kitchen! I think a green and white kitchen will always look good with traditional holiday decor.
The Craft Room
A lot happens in our craft room!
Would you believe this Christmas season I have done sixteen crafts! That makes me so happy. (If you want to see them, just click here.)
You will not believe what this room used to look like. Check it out here.
My craft room is my favorite place to use my Cricut and also where I do most of my crafts.
I love how I decorated the dress skirt of my dress form this year. I love the Christmas cards!
The Family Room
I partnered with JOANN to decorate our family room this year and I love how it came out. My polka dot and pine cone theme is unusual but I had a lot of fun with it.
And these pine cone trees are one of my favorite crafts.
The family room is pretty much where we spend a lot of our time. I know I need a new sectional (it’s twenty years old) but I can’t find one that fits along our wall and doesn’t cost a fortune!
The Living Room
I have struggled to decorate in the past and I really love the color that we added to the living room. We don’t get a lot of light in here and I have always hesitated to bring in a lot of colors. But after looking at this photo, I can promise you that I will always try to bring more color into our living room.
I shared a tour of our living room yesterday and explained how I made most of the pillows and how I made the coffee table. The trees in here are from Balsam Hill.
The Dining Room
I thought it might be fun to use a metallic theme in the dining room and I chose to use silver and gold. The crystal trees are from Pottery Barn. Aren’t they fabulous?
The snowflakes are made out of pipe cleaners soaked in Borax.
The Back Porch
The Nutcracker Room I created on our back porch with The Home Depot was so magical! I made the wooden centerpiece for this evening and if you look above, you can see that it also works in our dining room!
I cut Nutcracker snowflakes and hung them from the ceiling. They add a whimsical effect to the room.
I hope you like the choices I made this year to decorate our home. I also decorated the bedrooms but I think you don’t need to see those too!
The boys are all here and our family is complete. I absolutely am at peace and so happy right now that everyone is home for the holidays.
I hope you liked the tour. Do you have a favorite room?
