My Favorite Farmhouse Fall Decor Ideas

I love decorating our home with farmhouse fall decor. Did you know there is one type of fall decor that you can use to decorate your entire house?

Can you guess what it is?

So what’s the answer?

Fall florals and floral branches!

They are an easy way to instantly add a touch of fall to your home. In fact, fall florals, branches, and wreaths can be the only fall decor you use to decorate your home.

And it will look amazing!

Fall colors are some of my favorites. Rich reds, fiery oranges, pinks, and warm golds. Our home comes alive with all of the gorgeous fall colors.

While it is still quite warm outside, fall is beginning to creep in. School is back in session, soccer fields are filled with brightly colored jerseys bobbing and weaving around, college football is right around the corner, and cooler temperatures are hopefully here soon!

Decorating my home for fall always helps me make the transition and fall florals are absolutely gorgeous.

While traditional fall florals like applies and cotton stems add an instant fall feel, I think my favorite fall floral is faux red and orange pomegranates. The colors are absolutely spectacular and are perfect for any fall color palette. These vibrant fall colors are perfect for an instant pop of fall.

Pomegranate branches have become a staple in my farmhouse fall decor.

A Tip for Faux Branches, Florals, and Leaves

A quick tip for faux florals, never cut the bottoms of the faux branches or stems, simply bend them to the length of the vase or vessel that you are arranging them in. Bending the branches/stems will preserve the length so that you can use them again and again in any size container.

This may be one of the easiest arrangements ever. For this arrangement, I bent the bottoms of the branches to various lengths, placed them in a white ceramic crock, added a few faux greens and I was done!

I collected the containers a few years back and I love to use them still.

Reusing Rae Dunn

I love reusing Rae Dunn pieces for a purpose other than what they were originally intended for! The crock above is a coffee canister. I just spin it around so that you don’t see the words printed on it.

For those of you who collected Rae Dunn for years, I am curious if you still use it? Did you hold on to it? Do you repurpose it? Do you use it as intended? Is it packed away in boxes in the basement/garage? Please let me know!

Favorite Faux Fall Branches

Branches create a perfect fall feel. Perhaps it is the woodiness of the branches or the reds, oranges, and golds of the fruits and berries that adorn them that make me think of pumpkin patches and hot apple cider.

Favorite Faux Fall Leaves

New Family Room Fall Decor Table

Sometimes it can feel a little intimidating with the vast number of choices available for farmhouse fall decor online. I am a huge fan of faux florals, leaves, and wreaths. If you have had a negative experience with faux florals in the past, please give them another try. Faux is not what it used to be!

When I share items with you that I have purchased and used in my home, I want you to know that you can also purchase them confidently and decorate your home beautifully.

Favorite Faux Fall Wreaths

Adorning a window, door, or wall with a fall wreath is a perfect way to introduce farmhouse fall decor into your home. Wreaths are not just for doors! I love to hang wreaths inside on my windows and walls. When the morning and afternoon light filters through the windows, the wreaths take on an almost magical quality, lighting up the room with fall colors.

Decoupage Napkin Pumpkin Craft

There are so many ways to add fall to your home. I shared my latest pumpkin craft last week. It might just be one of my favorite crafts, I love how they turned out and they were so, so easy to make! In case you missed it, you can find my post on pumpkins decoupaged with fall-colored napkins here.

Easy and inexpensive ways to add fall to your home are faux pomegranates, faux apples, or faux persimmons piled in a copper bowl or wooden bowl.

Swapping out your pillow covers with fall-colored ones, and setting the table with copper chargers and candlesticks that reflect and amplify the surrounding fall colors are other easy ways to transition your home to fall.

I also love to make my own fall pillow covers. You can find the post on how to make a fall pumpkin pillow cover here.

You can make a lot of these decorations yourself, buy them online, or, like me, do both! What matters is that you take the time to add some cozy autumn touches to your home and enjoy the season!

  1. The pomegranates are so pretty for fall but apples seems to be more suited for my old
Virginia country home. Thanks for showing these!

  2. Ha. I like to think that I have hidden the incoming purchases…until the other day when I received the comment “and all of a sudden our house is full of signs!” I think he was grumpy. He stomped off to work….😂 At least it took him a while to actually notice!

  3. LOVE the orange pomegranates, and yes, they are backordered until at least Oct. 21st. Still going to order them–they will look perfect during the winter months also!! Question: they come 3 branches to an order. How many branches did you use for your arrangement?? LOVE this idea!!!

  4. Thank you do much for sharing all these beautiful branches and giving us great tips! And yes I hide my amazon boxes from my hubby too. I didn’t know amazon had all these beautiful branches ❤️❤️

  5. Every single blogger is decorating for fall. It. exhausts. me. I just un-followed a bunch of them on IG last night. Not into all the hype.

I just love the simplicity of your decor. It’s classy and not gaudy and does not overwhelm the home.

  6. I love this post. So simple, but so pretty. Can you share where you got the filler stems? The little leafy green-ish ones? Thanks so much. Love your blog!

  7. Every amazon package goes into the trunk of my car. I open them when I’m alone! When he finds an amazon box on the stoop, he brings it in – no big deal. He is definitely on a need to know basis! It’s no big deal!

  8. One of the reasons I’m glad not to be in any kind of committed relationship! I used to keep purchases in my trunk for days so one significant other would not see them even though it was my own money being used for the purchases! I’m sure this is a sign of shopaholicism!

  9. It’s amazing to see how you can take something simple and make it into such a eye catching piece.
    Thanks for the great ideas!

  10. really like this post. so simple, but so pretty!
glad to see recent posts have been more ‘practical’.
like i said previously, some of the posts are just absurd: dinner in wine cellar, (am i the only reader without a wine cellar??), dinner for 65 in back yard, dinner on the beach, three houses, etc.
my backyard is much too small for 65 people!, i don’t live at the beach, (wish i did!), i’m lucky to have one house, lol.
all that said, it’s still fun to see ‘how the other half lives’!

  11. I used to be a major department store manager. So every purchase (and there were many with my incredible discount) that I brought into our old home, I would slip between the open stairs into the basement. He never did laundry, so he never went into the basement. Now, all my Amazon purchases come once a week on Saturdays (saves boxes and delivery problems). The boxes are usually bigger so he brings them in and I tell him to put them IN the basement. I tell him that its laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper etc. He never opens them so he never knows that my boxes are full of all kinds of home decor and goodies. We have been married for 53 years so my system seems to be working. I love your style and you have caused me to order way too many heavy Amazon boxes inspired by your wonderful suggestions.

  12. Hello Leslie
How did you hang the fall wreaths? I do not see a ribbon. In some posts you show the ribbon and this one you do not. I like the ribbon for Christmas/Winter decor. But loving this invisible illusion you have going on here. thank you again for always finding the time to post for your fans.

  13. Yes, please do a Rae Dunn post. I started collecting two years ago and at first I bought everything (especially, if it was on sale). During the pandemic, I found some vintage Rae Dunn groups on facebook and now I am only interested in the older pieces and items with pictures on them. Not into just the words. I just sold over 50 pieces at my garage sale this past weekend. I Would love to see your ideas for different ways to use or display RD.

  14. While I have loved your website, lately it has turned into a big promotional ad for your new book. It is getting annoying, repetitive and boring. Maybe cut pushing the book back to once a week or place it at the end of the post? Please concentrate more on the daily posts. That’s how you got all your followers!!!!
