Around the House at My 100 Year Old Home

|

It’s a new month and I couldn’t be more excited. I am the most organized I have ever been and I cannot wait to share with you all of my projects and ideas on my blog.

Ocean Front Dinner

I cannot believe August is here. This summer has been an odd one because one week flies by and then the next one drags on. And the weeks and days seem to kind of blur together. I am sure that is because we don’t have much on our calendar these days. Or weeks.

Is this the new normal?

With all that said, July was an amazing month at My 100 Year Old Home. That is because I spent the month of July finalizing all of my blog post topics through the end of the year.

What does that mean? It means that the hard part (coming up with the ideas and topics to share) is done. The fun part (creating and writing) is left to do.

That works for me.

I should point out that I have very large calendars for August – September hanging on the walls of my craft room. Each calendar is covered with color-coded post-it notes with have the titles of all of my blog posts. I used post-it notes because I know things will change and need to be moved around a bit. (See, I am learning!)

This is my inspiration board for fall.

If you want to know what I have planned for August you should read this post. It’s all about planning the month of August and my amazing inspiration board for fall. My color inspiration is copper. But I think you might have already figured that out.

On the Blog This Week

It was a great week at My 100 Year Old Home.

Stenciled Sunflower Napkins

I absolutely loved making a stencil with my glue gun. Although this was my first attempt, it was so easy and so much fun to make. I used the stencil to make these sunflower themed napkins for the family dinner I am hosting tonight.

I am also really excited about the super cheap (as in $5) solar lanterns that I made. They are so easy to make and you can order everything from Amazon. The links are below.

Bedroom Makeover

I am also starting a remodel in the bedroom on our third floor.  All of the furnishings have been ordered and I will be sharing those links this week!

Here are all of my blog posts from this past week.

Solar Mason Jar Lights

The solar lids and hangers are sold in a set of 12, and they come in cool light and warm light.

What’s Coming on My Blog Next Week?

If you are one of the hundreds of people who have been patiently waiting for my DIY on how to make these Wood Tabletops that sit on top of a plastic folding table, then you are going to be happy. I am finally sharing the DIY later in the week. This is by far the most asked for DIY and I can’t wait to finally share it with you.

I will also be sharing our Family Dinner Party in the Backyard, How to Make Amazing Flower Arrangements with flowers from the grocery store,  an update on our Third-floor Bedroom Remodel, and more.

I look forward to sharing all of this and more with you this coming week.
