Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2024! I am determined this year is going to be all about embracing change. Join me as I share some happy changes in our lives.

I want to do a lot of things differently and the only way for that to happen is if I embrace change. I have plans for this year so we can all be happier in everything we do. Some will be major changes, but most will be subtle ones.

Embracing Change

Happy New Year 2022

Every ending is a new beginning; embrace change as an opportunity to grow and evolve.

I love this quote. It’s probably why every New Year’s Day I open my arms to embrace change.

I don’t usually make resolutions, rather I remind myself to embrace change all year long.

You know how much I love to share my ideas about entertaining, decor, crafts, and recipes. Let’s use these ideas to make simple changes at home and in our lives.

This year it’s all about home. It’s about making subtle and affordable changes in our homes and creating decor with inexpensive craft projects that look expensive. It’s about making subtle changes in our diets that make us feel better. And it’s about creating wonderful memories by entertaining at home in fun ways we never imagined.

Embracing change. That’s what we need to do.

Home Decor

I have lots of ideas of how we can all have fun “re-invigorating” (I like that term better than redecorating) our homes.

We are going to move the furniture around in a room to make it feel different. We are going to repurpose and try some really fun things.

I already have one big change (so far, hah!) planned this year.

We are going to re-invigorate our Carriage House yet again and turn it into a very fun space. (More on that later!)

Any guesses?

Tips to Buying a Vintage Chandelier

On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.

Crafts

My new craft room on the third floor with vaulted ceilings, a Dreambox craft storing cabinet, a work table, and more.

I would like to challenge you to try one of my craft projects this year. Most of the crafts I create can be made by anyone. You don’t need to be creative and you don’t have to be an expert. You just need the right materials and a bit of patience.

And I think you will be surprised how much you enjoy it!

I have a new blog format for my crafts. All projects will include a difficulty rating and a cost estimate. I am going to create items at all levels so you all feel that there are craft projects that you are comfortable making.

I mentioned last week that I am going to make Christmas crafts all year long, but I won’t share them until October. I just want to get a head start and have ten new projects ready to share!

With my new craft room, I have the space to manage multiple crafts at the same time. How fun is that?

My craft projects are fairly easy to make and don’t cost a lot to make, yet look like they are expensive. They are all items you can use in your home and I think you are going to be blown away with the projects we have in mind for this year.

Entertaining

The Art of Entertaining Outdoors

Entertaining is creating a unique and magical experience for your guests. It does not mean you have to host a big party for 50 people.  Entertaining, can be just your family, on a Wednesday night, in the middle of the week.

This year I want to offer more creative and easy solutions for entertaining. Casual dinners, potluck dinners, dinner clubs, and more.

The Art of Entertaining Outdoors

Here are some of my favorite items to use for entertaining.

Recipes

Three recipes for protein bowls - salmon, beef and chicken. They are loaded with vegetables and nutrients.

Delicious food always tastes better when it’s healthy.

Why? Because everything tastes better when it’s guilt-free.

I changed my diet a year ago and I am healthier, happier, and maybe even a little bit thinner. I cook differently and a lot healthier and I think the food tastes even better.

But I have fallen a bit off track as we are very gluten-free but not always dairy-free. So get ready as I start altering our favorite recipes and making them healthier.

If you aren’t interested in embracing change, don’t worry, I will include the original recipes but if they are healthier and taste just as good, then why not, right?

So what do you think?
