Crafting and Sunday Morning Coffee

|

Crafting has always been a source of joy for me. There’s something so fulfilling about turning simple materials into something beautiful and meaningful.

Whether it’s a seasonal project, a handmade gift, or a little something to decorate my home, crafting allows me to slow down, be creative, and pour my heart into what I’m making. And when it comes to Valentine’s Day crafts, that’s where my creativity truly comes alive. Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning coffee.

Why I Love Crafts, Especially Valentine Crafts

Valentine Paper Placemat

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite times to craft because it celebrates love, kindness, and connection. The colors—pinks, reds, and blush tones—are already inspiring, and the theme lends itself to many possibilities, from hearts and flowers to personalized gifts and decor.

Crafting for Valentine’s Day lets me embrace the season’s charm and create pieces that bring warmth and joy to my home.

Over the years, I’ve shared some of my favorite Valentine’s Day projects on the blog, and I love revisiting them every year.

A collection of heart-shaped clay pieces decorated with polka dots and checkered patterns, displayed on a round white surface.

This year’s air clay hearts projects stand out, where I used stencils, napkins, and clay paste to create beautifully textured hearts in blush and taupe tones.

I may sometimes use affiliate links on this blog, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.

These handmade pieces were a joy to make and versatile—they’ve become part of my decor and even make great gifts.

Valentine DIY

The good news is I have a lot more projects to share. I spent the weekend at the beach working on a few new ones and I am excited!

I also love crafting unique table settings for Valentine’s Day dinners. From handmade napkin rings to heart-shaped place cards, I’ve shared ideas that make the table feel unique and intentional. Crafting for the table is one of my favorite ways to combine practicality and beauty, and it’s something I look forward to every season.

Looking Ahead: Lots More Valentine Crafts to Come!

I’ll dive deeper into handmade gifts’ themes, including ideas for more clay projects, paper crafts, and even easy DIYs using materials you already have at home.

I’ll also share creative ways to decorate your home for Valentine’s Day in a way that feels elevated, not over-the-top.

So whether you’re a seasoned crafter or someone looking to try something new, I hope these projects inspire you to get creative this Valentine’s season. There’s so much joy in making and sharing something with your hands with the people you care about most.

I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on—stay tuned for lots more Valentine’s craft inspiration coming your way!

My Latest Project

My Latest Project

My new craft room on the third floor with vaulted ceilings, a Dreambox craft storing cabinet, a work table, and more.

I am still in the thick of re-organizing the 3rd floor. I will be honest; as you can see from the photos below, it got pretty bad over the last few months. We lack storage in our 100-year-old home, and as we were preparing for the heating/AC installation, holidays, Christmas party, and guests moving into our house, I decided the 3rd floor could be my dumping ground.

Of course, it’s temporary.

And why am I sharing this?

Because I don’t want you to think our home is always perfect.

That is so not the case!

But social media and bloggers don’t often share what’s on the other side of the camera. I would rather be upfront and honest about my life.

So this is what you get!

It will be done by next week’s SMC! (And I wrote that, so I have to be accountable to all of you next week!)

My Biggest Challenge This Week

Smiling woman with crossed arms stands in a kitchen. Behind her are shelves with glasses and woven baskets. There's a plant on the counter and a window showing green foliage outside.

This past week has been fantastic. All of my challenges are behind me, and I am so happy.

My Facebook page is back (it was hacked a few weeks ago), and I had a fabulous time at the beach house this past weekend. It was 75 degrees and sunny. Just beautiful.

And … I have almost finished needlepointing Charlotte’s stocking. Next up is Graham! (You can see my progress on my Instagram stories today.)

Here is today’s question:

I am working on a blog post next week about homemade salad dressings. Do you have any great homemade recipes to share? Of course, I will credit you!

Let me know below. Don’t include the recipe, just the type of dressing, but include your email so I can reach out personally.
