Beach House Move-In Tomorrow and Sunday Morning Coffee
Move-in day is finally here!!! It has been a long and tumultuous road, but the beach house is kind of ready for us to move in tomorrow!
Part of me cannot believe that move-in day is actually here. We had a few delays and somewhat challenging obstacles that thankfully, are all fixed. And while the beach house may not be completely done, we are moving in tomorrow!
Season 3 Volume 5
Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun. Let’s get started!
About Me
I have shared bits and pieces about the remodeling of the Ventura beach house throughout the last nine months, but next week I will finally be able to share some real progress photos.
It is an incredible process to imagine and dream about a home in your mind, picturing colors, textures, and how the home will feel, and then seeing all of the elements come together and become a reality.
I have been at the house almost every day this past week as so many things have happened and there is a lot of my input needed. It is finally sinking in that we will be able to actually sleep at our beach house very soon.
Yesterday I took a lunch break up on our deck, all by myself. I sat on a plastic bucket and enjoyed my lunch as I watch the waves crashing on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was amazing.
And tomorrow we move in!

My Latest Project – Gee, I Wonder What That Could Be?
I am pretty sure you are wondering when you will get to see photos of the finished beach house.
The protective covering is now off of the hardwood floors and getting the house to a move-in ready state has been all-consuming. The house has been full of electricians, plumbers, concrete layers, painters, and quartz installers.
I have three storage units that will be delivered to the beach house tomorrow. One unit has all of the new items I have purchased from primarily two places: the Pottery Barn Outlet and Amazon.
I think I did a little bit more shopping than I thought I would. Oops.
The fun part really begins this week as we will be moving in the furniture and decorating the entire house. But it is true that the house isn’t quite done. We still have more painting, plumbing, and electrical. I hope we will be staying at the house this week, we just need hot water first! (Just waiting on the new water heater!)
Over the next few weeks, I will share every completed room. This will give me a chance to also share the process which begins with the shopping, mood boards, and decisions (as there were at least a gazillion decisions to be made).
I am so excited to share everything with you which will include the mistakes I made (there were a few) and the amazing partners I worked with during the process.

My Biggest Challenge This Week
Managing the countdown to move-in day has been really crazy. Partly because this is the time when you start to notice things that might need to be fixed.
And I don’t like to be negative or a pain in the you-know-what!
But tomorrow is move-in day and if I don’t get these things changed then they likely never will be!
Things such as the bathroom sconces that aren’t centered. Or the missing light switch by the door that is supposed to turn off the outdoor lights. Or the awesome lights over the island that aren’t quite level.
Yep. It’s those little things that lead to that saying, “two steps forward and three steps backward”.
