Around the House at My 100 Year Old Home – Week Six
Welcome to Around the House at My 100 Year Old Home. This is a weekly update I share every Saturday about what is going on at My 100 Year Old Home.
Welcome Inside My 100 Year Old Home
The first week of February is already over. But I had so much fun last week and I am loving every single day.
February’s theme is Let’s Get Creative so I am working really hard to bring you lots of creative ideas. This has been a lot of fun.
Our Waco fixer-upper home is available on Airbnb. If you are looking for a place to stay in Waco then let me know!
Let’s take a look at what happened at My 100 Year Old Home this week.
How to Remodel a Bathroom With Paint
Some of you may remember when I visited the HGTV Dream Home in HiltonHead in early December. I was so inspired by the home and I decided to do a little remodel with two of the paint colors from the Sherwin-Williams Simply Blissful Color Collection.
I hadn’t been in our boy’s bathroom for a while (this was not a coincidence) and as expected, I did not like what I found. There was a terrible leak in one of the walls, at least seventy-two old shampoo and body wash bottles in the shower, and painted walls that had yellowed a bit.
Needless to say, the boy’s bathroom became my easy target for a remodel.

Big News About Our Beach House
I shared big news about our beach house on my blog this week. We are going to do a remodel. The outside is literally falling apart (the stucco is peeling off in huge sheets), the roof needs to be replaced (it’s leaking) and we need another bedroom. So we are expanding up a floor and I am really excited.
Also, you might have noticed that I have never shared a front view of our beach house. It needs some work.
I really want to make the beach house a smart home and click here to find out what motivated me to do that!
I have mentioned before that I have a new Editorial Calendar that I use every day and it is amazing. All of my blog posts for February have been decided, thanks to all of your input on one of my Instagram posts. It’s going to be a very fun month. I am working on blog post ideas for March now. If you have any ideas or requests, please email me at [email protected].
What’s New in The Family Room
I am going to be in town for a few weeks and that is so nice. I am working every day to create new content for my blog and Instagram and still think that I have the best job in the world. I couldn’t do any of this without all of you. Thank you for your comments and amazing encouragement. I am so excited that spring will be here soon because I have so many ideas for some fun projects and parties!

Easy Elegance Wednesdays – Five Secrets to the Perfect Craft Room
Every Wednesday I share a wonderful round-up of posts for Easy Elegance Wednesday. This week I shared my craft room. I love my craft room because it’s a place where I am the most creative. I shared the remodel of the room and the before photo. It is amazing what white paint can do to a dark room.
Head to my blog to see the before photo and more.
How to Make a Spring Wreath
I love to make crafts and this week I really pushed myself to be creative. I had a few bags of pine cones leftover from Christmas and wanted to make something with them. I cut them into flowers and then challenged myself to make a dark brown pine cone look like spring!
I am so happy with the result and I was blown away by all of your positive comments and encouragement. A few of you already made wreaths using my DIY and they are amazing!

Pate a Choux with Mousseline Cream and Raspberry Filling
I love my Friday series called “In the Kitchen with Leslie” and the amazing Chef Monique Chan was back this week. We made these amazing Choux Puffs and the recipe is incredible. Head to my blog for the recipes.
You can also watch this complete video showing how we made these Pate a Choux with Mousseline Cream and Raspberry Filling.
I am really trying to be more aware of the items you can use to make your home smarter. In our Waco Airbnb we installed the Rheem® Gladiator™ Electric Water Heater. Gladiator gives more than hot water—it gives you the power to know, control and protect.
And how does that happen? With an app on my phone.
With the Gladiator and the EcoNet® App, we can prevent cold showers, receive alerts of issues before there’s no hot water, and protect our home from potential water damage.
That kind of makes it a no brainer.
Let’s see what my friends are up to.
Happy Happy Nester made an adorable felt wreath.
My friend Deborah Hall has the most incredible online store with the coolest vintage items.
I love the bathroom remodel update Liz Marie shared on her blog. The painted floors are my favorite!
Sheila from Maison De Cinq shared a gorgeous Valentine’s Day table.
Looking Out the Front Door
Next week on the blog I will be sharing tips on how to get the porch ready for spring, how to make a free stitch embroidery project and a really cool board I made with wine corks. I will also share how our home became famous in the movies and I will be making a really fun recipe In the Kitchen on Friday.
I am loving the changes at My 100 Year Old Home this year. Thanks for being here with me.
