Summer Decorating Ideas

simple-summer-decorating

Today I have joined four other bloggers to share our summer decorating ideas. For me, decorating for summer this year was simple and fun. I started in our living room when I took down all of our drapes! The change is absolutely fantastic and I cannot believe how much better I like this room.

My color scheme for the room ended up consisting of pink and orange. (I do remember when I was growing up that pink and orange were two colors that clashed horribly!) But now I love these colors and with a mostly white room, it’s not hard to add a bit of color. You may recall that I made this felt flowered pillow. I think it makes a great focal point in my living room. I just love how it came out.

Our living room is not fancy. Rather, it’s comfortable and relaxing. But I love it. The neutral palette is so easy to work with and the pops of orange and pink are just perfect for summer. You can see more in my Simple Summer Decorating blog post.

Now let’s take a peek at the summer decor ideas from my favorite blogger friends.

Happy Happy Nester

I love how Janine from Happy Happy Nester swapped her patio table and chairs for an outdoor sofa and chairs. Isn’t this space amazing?

Modern Glam

For her summer decorating ideas, Ashley from Modern Glam added pops of blues and pinks. Since they have been spending most of their time outdoors, Ashley brought in a bit of the outdoor colors inside.

She Gave It a Go

Each season, Brendt from She Gave It a Go enjoys trying to create that feeling for family and friends that come to our home. Be sure to check out her blog post to see exactly how she did that.

The Happy Housie

I love how Krista from The Happy Housie decorated her home for summer this year. She shopped her house and didn’t buy a bunch of new stuff to decorate for summer. How smart is that! Be sure and see how she did this and more on her blog post.

Thanks for joining me for a quick recap on summer decor. I hope to enjoy it before it’s time to decorate for fall!

  2. I love your home but I am much more of a minimalist and have very few decorative objects around. I have not always been like this, but for me it works so well now. I do enjoy seeing other people’s homes that are styled like yours and still appreciate how people can mix and match and make everything look stunning. I decorate with books and anything from nature, but even then, have few things out for display. I enjoy your blog and reading comments posted. Thanks!
