I have always struggled with storing my paper flowers. They are kind of delicate and I want them to be seen. When I found this vintage French flower stand I knew exactly how I wanted to use it.

The stand holds 15 tin canisters for flowers. I have filled them with a lot of the paper flowers I have made and I just love this! Thee gerbera daisies were very fun to make!

Before I start my DIY, I wanted to mention that there is one gal who inspires me every month with her crepe paper flowers. Her name is Lia Griffith and she has a private membership group called Member Make, where you can find all of her designs, patterns, instructions, and Cricut cut files for ta lot of paper flowers.

I used Lia Griffith’s template and information to make these tulip flowers.

Cut the crepe paper according to the template notes, using scissors or a Cricut cutting machine.

I love how quickly the Cricut machine cut all of these petals.

Dip the filaments in glue (about 1/2″) and let dry.

Next, dip the ends of the filaments in powdered pastels and set aside. Don’t these look great?

Assemble the tulips by placing three tulips around the filaments.

Secure with floral tape. Place three more tulip petals in the spaces between the first three petals and secure with floral tape.

Continue wrapping the floral tape all the way down the stem. Add leaves if desired.

  1. Hi, Leslie! I am a member of Lia Griffith’s Member Make, too, but I’ve never been interested in the paper flowers. You might just entice me to try making some. Thanks for the inspiration!
