Fall and My Favorite Beach House Decor

I cannot believe how much time we are spending at the beach house. We love our new beach house decor and fall is the best time of year in Ventura!

The skies are warm and clear, and the few crowds we see in the summer are now non-existent. I love the fall weather at the beach house and I wish I could be here every day!

Fall at Our Ventura Beach House: A Season of Serenity and Sunsets

The view of the ocean from our beach house in Ventura.

There’s something unequivocally magical about the beach during fall.

As the rest of the world dons its scarves and prepares for the pumpkin-spice mania, our beach house in Ventura offers a serene escape, cradled between the endless horizon and sun-baked sands.

It’s paradise.

Over the years, I’ve come to cherish spending fall in Ventura for a multitude of reasons. From the majestic views of the beach to the breathtaking sunsets, fall at our beach house is a meditative experience.

And now that we are finally done with our remodel we can finally enjoy our new beach house decor.

The Beach House – A Symphony of Peace

While summer at the beach is synonymous with bustling crowds, sunburns, and lively energy, fall brings with it an unmatched tranquility. The waters of Ventura seem to take on a deeper shade of blue, and the waves offer a rhythmic cadence that lulls the senses.

The beach stretches out, almost infinite, with fewer footprints marring its pristine beauty.

There’s an unparalleled joy in taking long walks on the beach, the cool fall breeze carrying the sound of the ocean, the soft sand caressing your feet, and the vastness of the Pacific making one ponder its enormity.

Of course, finding seaglass is an added surprise.

The beach in fall becomes a retreat for the soul, a place where one can connect with nature, undistracted.

Riding in the Outdoors

With my new e-bike, I try to ride every day if possible. I love the bike path heading north toward Santa Barbara because the majority of the path is right along the ocean. The serenity of the sound of the waves and the vastness of the ocean have made bike riding one of my favorite passions. Plus, it’s great exercise!

I try to ride between 20 – 30 miles each time but our latest ride was almost 40 miles! Dave and I rode up to Ojai and it was magical.

Decorating with a neutral palette and using the colors of off-white and taupe have created a very relaxing retreat for us at the beach.

The ocean views are such a big part of our decor and I often refer to them as our everchanging art on the walls.

Fall ushers in a rich tapestry of colors and themes that are fun to incorporate into our beach house decor. Inspired by the hues of the season and the beach’s natural elements, it seems that decorating our Ventura home might become an art project each season.

I just added a fall wreath with dried oranges, their sweet fragrance mingling with the salty sea air. To learn how to dry orange slices, check out my blog post here.

The soft fall color of orange has already made its way into the beach house with wreaths, art, and faux and fresh flowers.

Of course, I still have a lot of decorating left to do!

Pumpkins and wreaths will find their places on 3rd-floor deck, their earthy tones contrasting beautifully with the blue of the ocean. I am also adding soft throws and cushions, in shades of burnt orange and golden yellows, making every nook and corner a cozy haven.

The goal is always to create a harmonious blend between the outdoor beach landscapes and the neutral palette of the indoors, making our home a reflection of both the beach’s timeless beauty and the seasonal charm of fall.

Sunsets – A Painter’s Dream

If there’s one thing that makes fall at our Ventura beach house truly special, it’s the sunsets. The sky transforms into a canvas, with hues of pink, lavender, orange, and gold merging into one another in a dreamy dance.

Sitting on our deck, sipping on a drink, and watching this daily spectacle is a ritual. The sunsets serve as a gentle reminder of nature’s grandeur.

Our beach house in Ventura is more than just a house; it’s a sanctuary. It’s where memories are made, where time seems to slow down, and where the hustle and bustle of daily life gives way to nature’s melodies.

The beach, with its serene beauty, invites introspection. And the sunsets, with their ethereal beauty, remind us of the world’s wonders.

If you’ve never experienced the beach during fall, I can’t recommend it enough. Beyond the beauty and tranquility, it offers a chance to rejuvenate, connect with nature, and find peace in the simple joys of life.

For me, spending fall at our Ventura beach house is a tradition, a privilege, and a constant source of joy and inspiration.

  2. Home is beautiful! Is your couch and oversized chair pottery barn? I love the size snd slipcovers. I assume they are washable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful beach house ..Shelli

  3. Ok here we go…I have been following you for years and love our content. And watching the Ventura house come alive was fantastic. I learned many things and even stole a few ideas from you. But please stop saying Beach House over a dozen times every time you post about it.
For those of us who follow you we know its a beach house and its yours and you renovated it. For those who are new here, they get it by the first paragraph. Its hard reading, so I just look at the pics and figure it out. Just my opinion and you can tell me to bug off. But re-read it like one of us and you will see how annoying it is.

    1. Tammy,
I am so sorry that my use of the name “beach house” bothers you so much. But that is what we call our ventura house! Our entire family always refers to it as “the beach house”. We also have a name for our Pasadena house and Waco home. When we first bought the house we talked about what we wanted to call it and considered the beach cottage, Ventura house and other ideas. We decided to call it the beach house and I even monogrammed the robes and etched a cutting board with the name The Beach House. I promise I am not being obnoxious or bragging or anything. Thats just the name we call our house at Ventura beach. So sorry! Leslie

  4. No good deed goes unpunished!! Tell that Tammy to chill out and just be happy for you and your family!! You are so gracious to share your life with all of us! Thank you for dreaming along with us of a beautiful life- kindness truly does matter! Donna Rose, Calabasas
