Around the House – Week Ten
Welcome To Around The House At My 100 Year Old Home. This Is New A Weekly Update I Share Every Saturday About What Is Going On At My 100 Year Old Home.
Welcome Inside My 100 Year Old Home
I am not sure what happened to last week but I know it’s almost over. I spent five days at the Alt Summit in Palm Springs and ha an incredible time. Now I am in Austin, Texas with some of our family and I am excited to head to Waco tomorrow!
My Phone Crash
I am proud of the fact that I am somewhat savvy when it comes to my iPhone and yet my phone crashed big time while I was at the ALT Summit. IT was a fatal error which meant that I had to go to the Apple Store so they could erase my phone and reboot it. I wasn’t too freaked out because my phone is backed up on the cloud every day. That includes my 120k photos. All I am saying is that you need to make sure your phone is backed up because sometimes cell phones crash for no apparent reason.
Don’t forget to check out my daily tips on Instagram and more. You can find them here and here.
I started out this week by sharing Milk Paint Does It Again – A DIY Project. I am obsessed with milk paint and have painted a lot of vintage pieces with it. Here is one of my favorites.
I took an old dark wood vintage chest and painted it with milk paint and added old ceiling tiles on top. You can see the complete DIY here.
You all are still asking about the Painted Free Motion Embroidery Pillow that I made. I made another one and can’t wait to share it soon.
What’s New in The Family Room
Speaking of pillows, I shared this felt flower pillow that I made for Easy Elegant Wednesdays. It was fun and easy to make and I even used my Cricut machine. Head to my blog post to see how much fun this project was!
Around the House
I love setting tables and Spring is such an inspirational time to add color to your tables.
And what’s the best way to do that? Add colored glasses to your table!
These pink glasses are from Amazon and cost only $6.00. And I bought the pink plates at TJMaxx last week for $5.00. Head to my blog post for links and details.
I was blown away by your reaction to my post on Why I Collect Vintage Crocks. It’s official that I am collecting these now. I own “way more than ten” so I think that makes a collection. (I didn’t mention the actual count in case my husband is reading this.) Next weekend I will be at the Round Top Antique Flea Market and I cannot wait to find some crocks for our Waco Airbnb.
Speaking of our Waco Airbnb, we are booked every weekend in March so you should make your reservation now! I am heading to Waco tomorrow to add some fun surprises and I will be adding a few furniture pieces from Round Top if my shopping goes well! Stay tuned for the updates.
Let’s See What My Friends Are Up To
My friend Karianne from Thistlewood shared Seven Favorite Pillow Combinations!
Janine at Happy Happy Nester made the best Four Ingredient Salad Dressing. It tastes so good!
Liz Marie Blog shared the most amazing Pom Pom Pillows. I might need to try to make some of these!
Looking Out the Front Door
Next week on the blog I will be sharing a renovating project under $500, a new painted and free motion embroidered pillow, an Easter dessert recipe and updates from Waco and the Spring Silos.
I am really enjoying celebrating Let’s Get Creative this month at My 100 Year Old Home this month. The theme for March is Remodel and Renovate. Fortunately, I have a lot to share with you, including a new remodeling project!
Thanks so much for the shout out! You are seriously the best friend on the planet! My pillows and I adore you!
