A Cozy Guest Room Makeover with Bare Home

The Mattress That Makes It All Work

When it comes to mattresses, I have one non-negotiable request: comfort. It needs to feel like home.

We unrolled it inside the cabinet frame and let it expand. Within minutes, it started to take shape, and by the next morning, it was fully fluffed and ready for its first nap (yes, I tested it!).

Before & After: A Guest Room Glow-Up

Before the mattress arrived, the room looked clean and simple—but it was missing warmth. After setting up the mattress, adding soft linens, and styling the built-in shelves, it transformed into a cozy retreat I can’t wait to use.

Michael and Ellie added a few coastal touches, a stack of books, and a small tray with tea and fresh flowers for that little “home away from home” feeling.

On my first night using the mattress, I slept like a dream. The memory foam gently supported me without sinking too deep, and the room stayed calm and quiet. In the morning, I sipped coffee by the window and thought: this is precisely where I want to be.
