This Week at My 100 Year Old Home – Fall Decorating Ideas
It was such a great week. I Shared a Lot of Fall Decorating Ideas and Tips at my 100 year old home.
I am still amazed that I get to go to “work” everyday and create parties for entertaining, bake in my kitchen, discover something fun in my craft room, and redecorate rooms in our home. I absolutely love sharing fall decorating ideas.
I couldn’t do any of this if it wasn’t for your daily support, comments, and enthusiasm. I do my best to read every single comment you make, answer your questions, and listen to what you have to say.
Most of the ideas for my blog come from all of you. I know many of you might not be aware of that, and I want to encourage you to ask questions, make suggestions, and help me to write what you want to read.
I genuinely love getting to know all of you so please reach out anytime.
I mentioned last week that I would be setting up a room with Christmas decor. That collaboration has been moved up a few weeks so I am not decorating for Christmas quite yet.
But I have started creating Christmas decor and crafts. It’s true!
I won’t share them until later but I just wanted you to know that I am in my craft room every day working on holiday projects. I set a goal to spend an hour every day developing my holiday ideas. Don’t laugh, but I calculated my time and realized that is what it is going to take if I want to finish all of the ideas I have planned. Oh my!
Ok, back to fall decorating ideas.
On the Blog This Week
It was a busy week at My 100 Year Old Home. I spent time decorating, organizing, cooking, and creating a party in our backyard. Looking back at the week makes me happy because it was not only a productive week, but it was also fun!
I always like to suggest which one of my weekly posts I think you should read first. But this week I don’t think I can.
At first, I wanted to recommend you start with the post about why I use my sterling silver as my everyday silver. (I also clean it in a way that most people think is crazy.)
Then I realized you really need to learn how easy it is to make vanilla and other extracts. If you want to make any of these for holiday gifts, then you need to make them now.
My easy fall flower arrangement post is actually about a dinner party I created in our backyard. I even made the wood tabletop and it cost me $12! Let me know what you think.
I shocked a lot of people when I stated that I use my sterling silver flatware every day. But that wasn't the most shocking part. Guess how I clean it every day? I just finished making homemade vanilla extract and flavored extracts for holiday gifts. They are so easy to make, inexpensive, and taste amazing. I am so excited to share with you Easy Elegance Wednesdays, where we celebrate simple elegant decor. Today I am sharing my craft room remodel and a few tips on how to organize a craft room. I love setting tables and today I am sharing an easy fall flower arrangement. I used grocery store flowers to create this wonderful setting for a fall dinner party. This Week at My 100 Year Old Home
My New Amazon Store
Every time I write a new blog post I get a lot of messages and emails asking about where I bought a lot of the items in my post. For a while, I have really wanted to be able to provide the information in advance, so I set up an Amazon Store. My store has all of my favorite items in lots of different categories. They are most of the items you see in my blog posts and I own at least half of them.
If you look at the photo above, I bought all of the fall greenery on Amazon.
Why did I choose Amazon?
I think most people are comfortable shopping on Amazon as they offer great prices, service, and delivery. Amazon invited me to set up a store and if you use my link I make a tiny commission on everything you buy (not just things in my store). This commission allows me to spend a lot of time every week creating decor, recipes, crafts, and entertaining. It is part of my “salary”.
I want to thank you in advance for using my Amazon link to shop in my store and anywhere else on their site. It helps me so much! And it doesn’t cost you a thing.
What’s Coming on My Blog Next Week?
It’s going to be a good week.
I am still making colored glasses and will share them this week for sure. You are definitely going to want to make these. They are gorgeous.
I just made a fabulous copper container for a centerpiece I cannot wait to fill with flowers. I also have more fall decor to share and I will be creating a Thanksgiving tablescape.
I am going to be painting a new abstract painting with some new paint I am very excited about. (I was a full-time artist before I started My 100 Year Old Home and can’t wait to paint again!)
I look forward to sharing all of this and more fall decorating ideas with you this coming week.
Thanks again for being here.
I love the candles! And your post prompted me to make a trip to Trader Joe’s and I replicated your arrangement using a clear pink vase instead of candles and it’s gorgeous. I’ve moved from Minneapolis to outside of Denver and there isn’t a Trader Joe’s very close to me now. My cart looked like an abundance of fall…and I was in heaven.
Thank you!
Cynthia
I love that!! Trader Joe’s is the best. Thank you for sharing, Cynthia!
