Decorating for Christmas is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season, and this year, I brought a fresh twist to our family room decor with cranberry and pink Christmas decorations.

While the rest of our home features sage accents, I wanted this room to feel warm, vibrant, and just a little bit playful. With a mix of new finds, DIY projects, and cherished pieces, the result is a festive, welcoming space that feels perfect for the holidays.

How I Used Cranberry and Pink Christmas Decorations in the Family Room

I can’t wait to share how I used cranberry and pink Christmas decorations to transform our family room into a cozy yet elegant holiday retreat.

Cranberry and pink might not be the most traditional Christmas colors, but together, they create a stunning combination that’s both festive and unique. Cranberry adds depth and richness, while pink brings a lighthearted, whimsical touch. The two colors complement each other beautifully and work seamlessly with the off-white and neutral tones already in the room.

Pillows and Accents for a Festive Base

I started with a simple update: new pillow covers to anchor the cranberry and pink theme in the family room. Swapping out pillow covers is one of the easiest and most budget-friendly ways to refresh a space for the holidays.

Cranberry and Pink Pillows: I chose a mix of velvet cranberry and soft pink covers, which instantly added warmth and color to the seating area.
Layered Textures: To create a cozy, inviting look, I paired the pillows with a neutral throw blanket, allowing the cranberry and pink hues to pop against the existing sage accents.

These small updates set the tone for the rest of the decor, tying the color palette together subtly yet impactfully.

Every Christmas, I like to incorporate at least one tree in our family room, and this year, I added a small frosted tree as the centerpiece of the room’s decor.

DIY Christmas Clay Ornaments: I decorated the tree with my new handmade ornaments, which feature delicate designs in pink, white, and metallics. These DIY pieces add a personal touch and fit perfectly with the room’s color scheme.

Pink Flowers: I considered adding small pink faux flowers to the branches to bring a bit of softness and dimension to the tree. The flowers would complement the cranberry and pink ornaments, creating a festive and elegant look.

To create a cohesive and polished look, I layered the place settings with a mix of handmade and curated pieces:

New Artwork for the Frame TV

Our Frame TV is one of my favorite features in the family room because it allows me to switch up the artwork to match the season. For this year’s Christmas decor, I chose a piece that complements the cranberry and pink palette:

A Pink Gingerbread House Village

One of my favorite additions to the family room this year is the pink gingerbread house village I set up on the credenza under the tree. This whimsical display adds a touch of nostalgia and charm to the space.

Playful Details: I added faux snow and small bottle-brush trees to complete the scene, creating a magical little village that feels straight out of a storybook.
