The Bedroom Makeover Reveal in the Waco Fixer Upper
This post is sponsored by Bed Bath & Beyond. All words, reviews, and opinions are mine.
I am beyond excited to share the first bedroom makeover in our Waco Fixer upper home. I partnered with Bed Bath & Beyond and selected from their Bee & Willow™ Home Collection for the transformation of this room. It is truly remarkable.
My goal for the decor in this room was to bring some of my home state of California into the room. I think this bedroom feels so much like my home!

The Before Photos
Let’s start off with a quick glimpse of the “before” bedroom photos I took when we first bought the house. This room used to be the front entryway.
This is how the room looked after we started the demolition. We fixed the foundation, redid the electrical, added insulation, new windows, drywall, and air and heat, and painted the walls.
And this is how it looked just last week.
The Bedroom Makeover
The room looked even more different once it was painted. But the furniture and accessories from Bed Bath & Beyond are what made this house feel like home.
Shopping Online with Bed Bath & Beyond
So how did I select all of the items for the bedroom makeover? I went to Bed Bath & Beyond online and started with the Bee & Willow™ Home Collection. I found the beds and bedding first and then added some color with the rug. From there I started adding accessories and lighting. I was really surprised how easy it was to shop for the entire room online. Forty minutes later and I was done!
My color palette for the room was all neutrals which consisted of offwhite and grey. I believe that if you keep a room neutral then it’s much easier to add colors later on for the seasons. Can you imagine how great this bedroom will look with red and green accents for the holidays?
The first item I looked for were beds and I selected the Bee & Willow™ Home Wood Slat Queen Beds in White Wash. Next, I chose the bedding and I knew the Bee & Willow™ Home French Vintage Ruffled Full/Queen Quilt Set in White would work perfectly with the beds.
I added benches at the foot of each bed which are so handy to have in a bedroom. They are the Bee & Willow™ Home Upholstered Benches in Natural and I love the grey accent stripe.
I then added accessories to the room and found the Bee & Willow™ Home Hudson LED Floor Lamps with Bulb in Black, the Bee & Willow™ Home Hudson LED Table Lamps with Bulb in Black, and filled a container with National Tree Company 12-Inch Artificial Peonies in White.
My next step was to select a rug and I knew I wanted something in a darker grey. I selected the Bee & Willow™ Home Ashby 8′ x 10′ Area Rug in Grey/Ivory. I absolutely love the rug and I think it really ties the room together. It is soft and plush and the design is fabulous!
I love all of the textures in the room and the two pillows coordinate so well with the bedding. Be sure to check out the Bee & Willow™ new collection of pillows!
Every room needs a statement piece and this chandelier is exactly that. It’s the first thing everyone mentions when they enter the room! I love beaded chandeliers and this Blanca 1-Light Chandelier in White is my favorite.
I also added a throw for each bed and be sure to see the full collection of Bee & Willow™ Home Shag Throw Blankets.
I did forget to order one important piece of furniture. After I set up all of the furniture and styled the room I realized I had forgotten a nightstand. So I headed to the Bed Bath & Beyond in Waco and found this Bee & Willow™ Home Wood Shutter Cabinet in Whitewashed. It’s perfect!
I can’t even begin to share how much I love this bedroom makeover. It was such a joy to work with Bed Bath & Beyond. My next step in our home is to finish the other two bedrooms. I am so excited I can hardly stand it!
Love the rug and other elements. Please share the link for the gray and cream decorative pillows as I have not found them on the BBB website. Thanks!
Loving every detail!! Nice job Leslie.
i love that the beds do not need bed skirts! they are a problem to keep straight and are never the same length you need. great job leslie!!!!
Love it all especially the beaded lamp shade and the benches at the end of the beds ! Xx

A nice blog you have shared with us all and it is very knowledgeable, aware about some thing which we don’t known
I am curious what mattresses you are choosing for these bedrooms. Mattress shopping seems so complicated. Especially for guest accommodations.
I chose the Stearns and Foster mattress for the master bedroom and the Tuft and Needle mattresses for the guest room.
Leslie
Do you have a second choice for the rug? It is sold out at BBB.
It’s amazing what you can find on the Bed, Bath and Beyond website. So beautiful
Well done! The ceiling left natural adds so much warmth! The rug is awesome. Pulled together beautifully. Welcoming and fun.
Not everyone would be able to transfer what you started out with into the charming home you created. I love the rug you chose. It brings the whole room together.
Thank you so much. It really was such a fun project and so rewarding!
amazing I love it it so inviting and comfortable
Thank you so much, Robin. Hopefully you can come visit someday!
Just love your style, you are so talented.
Would love to purchase the rug in 8 x 10, I can’t seem to find it on line at BB & Beyond, the link goes to a runner only.
Please help if you can.

Hi Donna, unfortunately that may mean that they are out of stock! I would keep checking back!
OMG! I ❤❤❤ everything! I ❤ all the recipes you share.
I am so glad, Donna!!!
How lovely and restful, how long did it take to renovate the entire house, start to finish?
Everything in this guest room is so light and cozy. I LOVE Waco as my daughter went to Baylor there, so I love going back for visits. I would do one thing differently and that is I would install a light on the wall above the nightstand as the nightstand has to pull double duty for both beds.
Great job, love your choices. Very simple but makes such a statement. Will have to tell my daughter to look on their site, she is trying to finish up her bedroom since moving back to Nova Scotia.
WoW… how beautiful !!!!! Thank You for sharing… I luv BED, BATH & BEYOND !!

What brand and color paint did you use for walls and trim? Love the whole room!
Love your entire process. My late husband was a contractor…he taught me so much and we lived through (& IN) many renovation projects. Your selections for decor are fabulous…so beautiful. Love the final results & I love Bed, Bath & Beyond, too. Great job, Leslie 👏❤️
