How to Add Color to Your Spring Decor
It was time to add more color to my spring decor. I added accessories and lots of faux flowers and love my new colorful spring decor.
By adding some new brightly melon-colored faux flowers the room has an entirely different spring decor feel. What a great and inexpensive way to brighten up a room.
Sprig Decor in the Family Room
I know what you’re thinking. Last month I was content with blue and sage green decor.
But I felt like something was lacking. For a while I have wanted to add some flowers to the family room but I needed the right color and. I actually considered pink, even though I think I am a bit “pinked-out”. Then I realized a melon color would be perfect.
So I did a bit of online shopping and ordered some pillow covers (as in two) and some faux flowers and I love it!
One of the advantages of having off-white slipcovers is that it is so easy to change colors in the room. If you think about it, every color matches my couches regardless of what I choose.

I also added a throw (in the melon-terracotta color) which kind of ties everything together.
Do you like my vintage lunch box? We use it to hide all of the remote controls and reading glasses. It’s perfect except when guests are here and they can’t find the remotes. I found a similar one here.
I already had the solid color blue pillows and I made the blue and white striped pillows a few weeks ago. You can find the DIY for the pillows here.
I looked for a while for blue and melon pillow covers and I really like these because they are different and fun.
A few weeks ago I took our silver vintage napkin holder and emptied out the paper napkins and filled it with blue and white cloth napkins. I found a similar silver napkin holder here. I keep it on the table always.
One of the first thing I did was make this floral arrangement using a combination of melon and pink flowers. I love that the flowers are faux because it means they will last a very long time.

I luv your style. Where do you find your fitted white slipcovers?
I got them from a local upholsterer!
Well, last month was last month! 😉 Seasons change and so does our decor – I LOVE the peach and coral inclusion! A beautiful choice. Thanks for the peach beauty this morning!
Thanks so much Barbara!
Hi Leslie! If you don’t mind what is the sage color on your walls in the very first picture? I just love it!

Hi Melissa! Yes of course the color is Behr Tanglewood!
BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE ALL OF YOUR PILLOWS.
You are so sweet!
Do you recommend pillow inserts to be the same size as the cover? Smaller or larger? I think I read somewhere that using a larger insert gives you a plumper pillow.
Thanks
Sandy
