Fall Table Decor Ideas for Your Dining Room
I love transforming our dining room from summer to fall. I can’t wait to share the fresh and faux fall table decor items I used!
Have you ever mixed fresh and faux? I do it all the time, especially when setting a table. The table decor in our dining room is new and different, and I love it.
A New Look in Our Dining Room
Don’t laugh, but this fall decor feels more grown-up. The colors are a bit more intense and regal. I know you are probably laughing by now, but I like the dining room look. There is copper, burgundy, green, pink, and orange.
More grown-up colors. Right?
The colors work together so well. The table’s style is elegant but also a bit rustic, but it is not overdone. It’s simple with a pop of deep, rich color.

Mixing Fresh and Faux Table Decor (the Scatter)
What I like most about this table is how we mixed fresh and faux decor!
The fresh items are the flowers, figs, and plumcots (which must be a hybrid of plums and apricots). The faux items are pumpkins, small metal roses, and pomegranates.
I am a huge fan of plumcots, so try them while they are in season.
I mix fresh and floral items all the time. Often, I make floral arrangements with fresh and faux flowers. I have never read that you shouldn’t do it, and even if I had, I wouldn’t have paid any attention. You know me—I never follow the rules!
You might already know that we refer to all the extra fresh and faux decor on the table as “the scatter”. I genuinely believe that this is what makes a table special. More times than not we use fresh fruit! Don’t you agree that the scatter is the jewelry on the table?
Choosing the Fall Table Decor Look
More Fall Decor in the Dining Room
Decorating the dining room, not just the dining table, is fun. Here are a few vignettes also styled for my fall look.
Fresh Floral Arrangements
The flowers are from Trader Joe’s. I mixed four colors of roses (two different shades of pink and orange), Safari Sunset Protea (the dark burgundy flower), and seeded eucalyptus.
In this overhead view, you can see that the four colors of roses work perfectly together. Don’t be afraid to mix colors. I am pretty sure there was a time when pink and orange did not go together! That is not the case in this house, as that might be my favorite color combination ever.

Love it Leslie. You really have such a knack for this and a wonderful and creative eye. Question for you. Do you decorate your dining table for the “season” or just when you are entertaining?
Thanks Kim! I appreciate your kindness. It honestly really depends, I do both!

Thanks Laura! Glad you love it
I didn’t laugh or think you’re silly. Upon opening the first picture my brain said, “now here’s a fall color scheme I can wrap my head around.” Doing fall in Florida has challenges but doing fruits and rich color is great because it balances out the intense heat and vivid color of a Florida August. The air of August and September here is heavy so beachy decor starts to pale and feel washed out but the heat is too oppressive for orange and red.
Oh I’m glad you love it! I totally understand!
Beautiful! I absolutely love the combination of roses, pumpkins, and those gorgeous candlesticks. Such a beautiful table, Leslie! Those wine glasses are stunning!
Thanks so much, I’m so glad you like it!
