Fall Craft Ideas for Your Table
I am so excited to share another fall craft idea! I had so much fun making these fall leaves for our family room. And this table just might be my favorite.
Next time I do a fall leaf project, remind me to wait until the trees actually have fall leaves. Somehow, I thought I could walk around our neighborhood and collect beautiful red and yellow leaves. But it’s fall in Southern California, and it feels like summer. Did I mention it was 89 degrees last week? There were no leaves at all.
Since leaf hunting was out of the question, I decided to make my own fall leaves. Should I have bought faux fall leaves to hang above our table? Probably so.
But just for fun, I painted watercolor paper, ironed it flat, and then debossed and cut out the leaves on my Cricut machine.
Piece of cake. Haha.
(By the way, scroll down to the bottom of this post to see twelve more great leaf projects!)
And don’t these leaves look amazing? I am addicted to the deboss option on the Cricut. Look at those veins in the leaves.
What You Need to Make the Paper Leaves
Ten sheets of watercolor paper (14o lb, 10″ x 12″)
Paintbrush and glue gun
Acrylic Paint (Alizarin Crimson, Warm (Cadmium) Yellow, Dark Pink, and Brown)
My Cricut Leaf pattern SVG (You can download it!)

I used these four colors to mix all my paint colors. The more limited colors you use will create a more harmonious color palette.
How to Make the Paper Leaves
Paint the sheet of watercolor with water. Then drip thinned (with water) paint on the sheets. Move around to the desired look.
Place each sheet in the sun to dry, and paint the backside of the watercolor paper.
This is what mine looked like.
Next, I found a maple leaf in the Cricut Design Store, and I made my pattern. The pattern included debossing a pattern for the veins in the leaves. If you want a copy of the SVG file with the maple leaf, just click here.
Place the dried watercolor paper on a cutting mat and be sure to use a brayer to adhere it. I used the cutting setting for 140-lb watercolor paper.
I made three sizes of leaves, and I absolutely love them. I also love that every leaf is different.
Next, I hung the leaves from our ladder chandelier in our dining room.
I cut 72″ lengths of fishing line and attached one leaf at each end with a hot glue gun.
I varied the lengths of the leaves, and I am thrilled with how this came out.
Don’t these leaves look like a pile of leaves from the yard?
I also found these wonderful copper 3″ x 4″ glass frames, and I put the cut-place cards inside.
All of the fall branches in this arrangement are from Amazon Home, which can be found here. I love these colors so much!
The glasses are vintage cranberry glass. Aren’t they incredible?

LOVE the fall tablescape!! Just beautiful! I’m just so sorry for the 114 degree temp where you are. Here in Pa., it’s been in the high 80s – 90s all summer and I’m so ready for fall and the beautiful leaves.
The Tater Tots and Jello link doesn’t seem to be working.
This is such a beautiful idea Leslie! Absolutely stunning!
I LOVE THIS TABLESCAPE, Leslie! The leaves add so much whimsy, and I love the unexpected pinks. I have just fallen in love with pink recently. Fabulous centerpiece, as well. Just gorgeous! Thank you.
Beautiful
Your fall table is so pretty, Leslie!
I pinned it to my fall board 🙂

Thank you so much, Karen!
This is a gorgeous fall table, Leslie! I love all the details you added!
Thank you so much, Krista!
Love the pop of colors!!
Thank you, Rhonda!
Leslie, at some point in my life I want a ladder chandelier over my table! It’s amazing all of the different things you can do with that. How about ghosts and bats hanging for Halloween, or Christmas ornaments hanging for Christmas? And then what about hearts for Valentine’s Day? The list goes on and on – so much fun!
Wish you would of showed more of the floral abstract by Leslie Saeta in 3rd floor reveal😀 Beautiful Fall decor…copper accents in my house too this year. Since I live in So Cal too, being creative inside was the only thing to do, so I made blue ombré pumpkins.
I LOVED that you used faux pomegranate sprays in your fall decorating!!! Never had considered them for fall but love the look. Thank you for opening my mind to creating new looks using this gorgeous fruit!!
I was surprised by the pink candles and dishes. They really blend! Beautiful.
Thank you, Stephanie!
