Christmas Family Room Home Tour
Are you ready for a home tour? It’s my favorite time of the year and I can’t wait to share how I decorated our family room for Christmas.
I finally finished decorating our family room and I am happy to share a quick home tour today. I love the traditional cranberry red and green and mixture of new and vintage decor. I can’t wait to see what you think.
Christmas Home Tour – The Family Room
Now that we are back from Hawaii, I have been able to spend some time finishing decorating our home for the holidays.
I am so happy I finished the room where we spend most of our time … the family room! Our family room is located adjacent to our kitchen and it’s where we enjoy all of our meals, watch TV (aka Hallmark movies at this time of year) and play games, and spend all of our time with our family.
One of the reasons I love to decorate our homes for the seasons is because we have a very neutral palette in just about every room. My theme this year is Cranberry Christmas so you are going to see a lot of red in just about every room!
I don’t think I have shared a home tour since we moved all of the furniture in our family room. We moved the furniture around in this room. The dining table is now just adjacent to the kitchen and I love our new Frame TV that shows beautiful art!
For the first time, we were able to fit a nice-sized tree in the family room. This tree is slimmer than most so I was able to tuck it back behind the vintage lockers next to the couch. (I recently painted the lockers white as they were an ugly gray and look so much better now.)
I added fresh wreaths with cranberry bows on all of the windows and doors. When you see our home tour of the rest of the house you will see wreaths in every single window!
Wreaths are an easy way to create instant Christmas decor in any room!
I also added some décor on the vintage wood window wall. These faux wreaths I purchased a few years ago are perfect.
Christmas pillows look great on a white couch and chair and the cranberry plaid and green ticking pillows look amazing.
Pillow covers give you Christmas decor in a snap!
I added some traditional décor on the small coffee table and used mostly vintage items. Both of the vintage Ironstone pieces are from Hollingsworth and Co.
On the dining table, I made a new centerpiece. Since we dine at this table every day I know it couldn’t be too large. I just wanted it to be fun so I used my vintage french wicker basket. All of the florals are faux because I want this centerpiece to last all holiday season.
I set the table for a fun holiday gathering for our family. Since our table is dark wood, I like to use lighter placemats and chargers so the Christmas plates will stand out.
I love having a bar set up during the holidays. When friends stop by, or the boys are ready for happy hour, it’s easy to enjoy a cocktail from our minibar.
The last thing I did was find a fun piece of holiday-themed art to put on our Samsung Frame TV. I am so in love with this TV and I love that it has a Deco frame and it can look like a piece of art and not a TV. I think this is the best invention and I just love it.

Wowww! Leslie these rooms look so festive! The cranberry red accents are brilliant. I’ve never applied wreaths to a window, can you tell me how to best affix them? Thank you for sharing your incredible home!
I love your home! Just the right amount of decorations, so many people I follow on Youtube just pack their homes with way too much stuff and it looks crowded. Your style is just right!
Oh you are so kind, Denise! Thank you.
What can I say! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Everything is just beautiful and superb… MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 TO ALL!!!
Thanks Debra!
Leslie, I just LOVE your family room! So comfortable and festive. I am curious about the lantern sconce by the windows-what is below it? I can’t tell if it’s a fabric cord cover that has fallen or a lovely section af tree limb. Needless to say, I love your style!
It is a fabric cord cover! Thanks Victoria.
i have to say, hate this room! the lockers need to go back to school, shabby little chest, or whatever it is, needs to go the curb, wall lantern with fabric? is not pretty.
hey, if you like it, that’s what counts, but looks like a fail to me, which is kinda unusual for you, maybe you were just tired from vacation, lol.
on the other hand, the kitchen is very pretty!!
So beautiful and cheerful! Great design ideas. I love everything you did. Merry Christmas.
*sigh* you make it look so effortless and yet I know how much creativity and work it really takes! Just so perfectly, cozy and warm – a breathtaking Christmas home! 🎄❤️🎄
Thank you so much Judi! You are too kind.
I love the way the room looks, the colors are beautiful, but because you have used berries and such, it doesn’t scream Christmas. I have the same fabric on a couple of table lamps in my dining room at you do on the wall lantern, it was mentioned that it fell down a bit I have to weigh the fabric down with the lamps or they drop down. I have a possible remedy, either weight it down with the bottom section of wood or use a small piece of Velcro stitched inside the fabric and glued on the wood on the lantern.
I always look forward to your emails.
love your creative style…..you have a beautiful home that is so welcoming. from Australia. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and may 2022 be a good one…Cheers 🎄🥂
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas to you too!
Love the color scheme. You have hit the ball out of the park with this blog. Marry Christmas to you and your family🎄🎉🥰
Thanks so much!
Leslie, Love your family room and dining room Christmas decor. The cranberry colors are lovely. May go back to my cranberry colors next year.
Beautiful! May I know where to purchase that beautiful print ?
Where did you get your sofa? Thank you
I love it, I love it the other way where the table is under the ladder chandelier, but its your home and I thank you for sharing it with us. I am definately going to start purchasing cranberry colored items right after this Christmas to use next year. I have an all white home, farmhouse style in decor, and I now realize the cranberry is going to look awesome. Red can at times make it look child like, the cranberry is more grown up. Have a wonder Christmas and a very happy New Year.
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you ❤️
