Equipment
- Rose-shaped silicone mold
- Microwave-safe bowls for melting chocolate
- Toothpicks
- Spoon or piping bag (optional for detail work)
More Mold Options
Instructions
1. Prepare the Mold

The molds I used came in a set of four. I used the two rose molds. Lightly dust your rose-shaped silicone mold with powdered sugar or cornstarch. This prevents the chocolate from sticking and makes it easier to remove the roses once they have set. Shake out any excess.
2. Skewer the Marshmallows and Melt the Chocolate

Insert a toothpick into each marshmallow. I used small toothpicks for the small flowers and larger ones to make milk chocolate stirrers.
Melt the semi-sweet or milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% speed, or defrost for 1 minute. Stir and cook on defrost for 30-second increments until melted. (I used three additional 30-second increments.) Add a teaspoon of Crisco to thin. If using white chocolate for decorative details, melt it separately and add a few drops of gel food coloring to create a pink or red shade.
3. Dip the Marshmallows

Dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before moving to the next step.
4. Place in the Mold

Carefully press the chocolate-coated marshmallow into the rose-shaped silicone mold so that the marshmallow sits snugly in the center. Use a spoon to add extra melted chocolate around and on top of the marshmallow to fill the mold if necessary.
5. Set the Chocolate
Place the mold in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or until the chocolate hardens completely.
6. Unmold the Roses

Once set, carefully remove the roses from the mold. The marshmallow inside will resemble the center of a blooming rose, giving the treat a realistic appearance.
7. Optional Decoration
Use melted white chocolate to drizzle over the roses for an extra special touch. You can also sprinkle edible glitter or dust them with powdered sugar for a romantic shimmer.
Serving Tip: Package these chocolate roses in a small gift box or arrange them on a plate as a stunning Valentine’s Day dessert centerpiece!

Endless Shapes to Try!
Instructions
1. Prepare the Base

In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract (if using) and a few drops of red or pink food coloring to achieve your desired Valentine’s color.
2. Mix the Cereal
Gradually fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, stirring until fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
3. Shape the Hearts

- Lightly grease your hands with butter or nonstick spray and press the mixture evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, about ½-inch thick. Use a rolling pin for even distribution.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly (about 10 – 15 minutes) but not harden completely.

- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes. Gather the remaining scraps, press them back together, and continue cutting until all the mixture is used.
4. Decorate with Chocolate

- Melt the semi-sweet or milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring between intervals until smooth.
- Place the melted chocolate in a pastry bag with a small tip and decorate each heart.
- If desired, dip half of each heart into the melted chocolate or drizzle chocolate over the top with a spoon.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with Valentine’s sprinkles, candy hearts, or edible glitter.
5. Set and Serve

- Place the chocolate-covered hearts back onto the parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set at room temperature. If you’re in a hurry, place them in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes to harden.
- Once set, they are ready to enjoy!
Serving Tip: Place these adorable treats in clear cellophane bags tied with red or pink ribbon for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift!
